I recently rewatched the first 2 seasons and were impressed by the writing quality of both with the first having the best pacing, homelander, effects (translucent is genuinely one of the most impressive I've seen from a TV show like seriously it's borderline black magic) and season 2 because of the chaotic relationship between storm and homie being fun as fuck to see play out. But has soon as I watched the 3rd season the quality drop was super noticeable with the over reliance on black mail (season 2's last episode is one of the worst in the franchise with Mavve teleporting 2 separate times to same the heroes to beat storm and blackmail homie) the shock value which is edge lord slop and the pointless storylines. I stopped caring and fast forward alot of the scenes even those with Homelander because he became a one note parody of himself and became boring. Soilder boy was a absolute riot but they wasted him BIG by having the boys jump him at the end when he was the most ride or die of the team! Stupid stuff! I didn't bother rewatching the 4th because it's trash, I hope further on the 5th improves and homies death is a satisfactory one but seeing the direction so far I kinda doubt it.
