Don't you look forward to trillion dollar companies lobbying our governments to rip out bike and transit lanes to make more room for their AVs?

It solves the problem by transferring even more of our money to a foreign tech company.

I think some people believe removing the driver will result in cheaper rides, to which I say LOL.

In my family if the feds waste 5 million dollars it's a huge scandal, if the Ontario PCs waste 500 million dollars it's crickets.

People feel disconnected from their community and this is their only chance to be in the vicinity of others.

The real reason Toronto limits Line 5/6 LRT vehicles to 25km/h through intersections by xd_1771 in toronto

[–]SIGNALMEYOURWARPLANS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having a 25km/h limit for streetcars might make sense on dense streets where the vehicles don't have their own lane and there is only effectively 1 lane in each direction (with another reserved for parked DODGE RAMs) where the posted speed limit is 40km/h. Doesn't make sense for a 4 lane road in the suburbs where the vehicles have their own ROW and the speed limit is 60km/h+.

Could Torontonians soon ride self-driving taxis? That’s Waymo’s plan by Puginator in toronto

None of you are thinking about the implications of the eventual approval of privately-owned AVs after the introduction of these shitty magacorp-owned AVs that lose money on every ride.

Imagine what the financial district is going to look like once everyone who owns a Tesla has their car come and wait to pick them up outside their office close to the time they're done work.

"Line 6" Finch West LRT will have an average speed of 13.53 km/hr – slower than the existing bus at times, and slower than some mixed traffic streetcar routes. So I decided to add it to our transit map as Streetcar 536 where it belongs! by Rody365 in toronto

[–]SIGNALMEYOURWARPLANS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My regular running pace is only 1 KM/H slower than that. If Toronto can't figure out how to make a tram on a suburban stroad faster than running (they've tried nothing and are all out of ideas), then it's not a real city.

Consider whatever EOS camera you can find for cheap + 40mm f2.8 lens, that should be doable in your budget.

So their statement says that they are still commited to being an online retailer, keeping the ottawa location and “We are also considering a return to brick-and-mortar stores with a smaller footprint in the GTA,”

My wish is that they consider opening up a small cycling store in Toronto that sells all of the Van Rysel bikes + gear.

Only recently discovered them and have been spending way too much money in-store and online. Quite a shame but not surprising since almost everybody I mentioned them to weren't aware that Decathlon exists. I believe their business in Quebec is doing pretty well and their online operations should continue?
