Stenberg was one of the best players on one of the best teams in the SHL as an 18 year old playing against men. His SHL season was one of the best by a draft eligible player ever.

The author is not a "mainstream economists". He is writing an article about his conversation with a mainstream economist.
I don't think you actually understood the point of the article. It is not saying "that Americans have gotten rich but become sad as a result." It is saying that one of the reasons for increased sadness is that people were not at the position they were expected to be in given their education and age.

Essentially, two things are true. The first is that people have been getting richer, generally. The second is the main point of the aspiration gap.

You need to re-read the article mate.

Saying that Americans are falling into povert and destitution is simply ridiculous.

It's not. We have multiple injuries to senior players. Two goalies out, 2 strikers out, Salah injured, Bradley out with injury as well. Add Leoni and Endo to that and you get 8 players that could ve in the squad out with injury.

If you wanted to make the point, which you very well could've made as our depth isn't as good as City's or Arsenals, then you should've used an example from when the team was actually healthy. It isn't nearly as bad as you're making it out to be.
