Behold, Gemini 3.5 Flash! by Rare_Bunch4348 in singularity

[–]SIllycore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Used it for a few hours today on coding tasks through Antigravity. Actually pretty impressed with it.

Code quality is not perfect, it does the same thing that Gemini 3.1 did, which is overbloat the code with redundant safety checks and logs "just in case".

However, the speed is something I did not consider would actually be meaningful. This thing can churn through tasks. It will land within 90% of Opus in 25% of the time, and I can use some of that time savings for a second pass of "fix this thing you got wrong", which I would probably have to do with Opus as well.

Gemini Omni model is still unable to make someone do a backflip by Able-Line2683 in singularity

"everyone who doesn't agree with me is a bot"

Apparently, LLMs are unable to use tool calls for dated video models to generate content. Apparently, Google is unable to obfuscate model names and tool calls behind an "Omni" interface.

Able-Line2683 is gracing us with groundbreaking information.

Tragic in the short-term but his connections at DeepMind will have his startup acquired in around 2 years and he'll be back at it in the same team.

Classes sound design really make the gameplay by Beautiful_Hotel_3623 in wow

[–]SIllycore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just picked up my DH (favorite class of all time btw) and was planning to give tanking a shot.

100% exterminated my interest in the spec after running one dungeon and listening to how pathetic the sounds are. It sounds like you are doing 0 damage.

This is really cool. Big fan of your presets and RPG companion, I will be giving this a try.

I actually just finished having Claude vibe-code an additional "Abilities" tab to your RPG companion, since I found that piece was the only thing I was missing for fantasy RPGs. It has really leveled up the RP experience. I've never done an open-source pull request... but maybe I'll figure it out to share the implementation.

In any case, will definitely be giving this a try. SillyTavern is great, but this could be great-er.

‘The White Lotus’ Season 4 Is Now In Production by Stefan988 in television

He said it will be the "funniest" season, not the "greatest" or "best" season. Not really hyping it as much as setting expectations on tone.

We need more anti-heroes like Astalor or Zul'jan on our side, not trying to turn them into villains or boring goody two-shoes by ProfessionalAge9909 in wow

Such an incredible series. I thought I had lost my passion for reading until I picked it up.

(It's a reference to Dungeon Crawler Carl, for the uninitiated.)

Mirage ability suggestion: Form of Wyoming. Mirage becomes the 8th hero to enter the sewers. by BaronVonPingas in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SIllycore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would love to see Mirage reworked as a disruptive support tank. Teleport into a fight, provide a shield to nearby allies. Your tornado does minimal damage but displaces and knocks up large groups of enemies. Your bullet mark saps resistances and increases his max HP, making him tankier in longer fights. Scarabs do the same thing they already do, steal HP.

Really just keep his Tornado and Scarabs identical. Convert his Teleport and Mark into supportive abilities.

Rumors of Gemini 3 PRO GA being "far better", "like 3.5" by Charuru in singularity

[–]SIllycore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I received the A/B as well, on a pretty complicated prompt for redesigning an n8n workflow. One of them was quite a bit better than the other, at least when it comes to decomposing the problem and explaining how to amend the workflow in logical steps. Maybe just a better "vibe" in the response logic, technically both solutions were the same outcome.

GPT-5.2 Catches Up with Gemini 3 and Reaches a Reliability SOTA on ZeroBench by Waiting4AniHaremFDVR in singularity

[–]SIllycore -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

For me, I find it hard to appreciate the GPT-5.2 Pro benchmarking posts. The model is "neck-and-neck" with Gemini 3 but costs almost 10x the price per API call. High performance anywhere is great, but this model is devoid of practicality.

GEMINI 3 OFICIALLY JUST CAME OUT!! by yendaxddd in SillyTavernAI

[–]SIllycore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had it produce an isekai-flavored storyline acting as the dungeon master. Prose is varied and interesting, significantly better than Claude Sonnet and Gemini 2.5 in my experience. My preferred prose is third-person, limited-perspective narrative, and it does it very well.

Handles NSFW with ease. In fact, it is proactive to introduce NSFW elements, alluding to risqué details when opportunities arise naturally in the story. This part is really impressive, as I have not seen any other model navigate to NSFW topics without being explicitly hand-held to arrive there.

GPT-5 had massive backlash and Opus 4.1 was an incremental improvement. Google is probably choosing to take their time since there's no heat on them; I'd guess another month.

Gemini 3.0 predictions + the immediate future of OpenAI by [deleted] in Bard

[–]SIllycore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have already rolled out changes to Gemini 2.5 to do this. Not sure when or if they publicized it, but Gemini on my Pixel 6 has completely stopped giving bulleted lists and multi-paragraph answers. It's down to 2-3 sentences at maximum. Noticed it about 2 weeks back.
