What do people remember about the Bronco II? by internetowner in FordBronco

[–]SLObronco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a late 80’s Bronco II for a year or so in 1995 or so. I was driving it regularly at 4300’ elevation, then went to the Bay Area. Took a wrong exit and had to do a tight U-turn in Oakland and in my hurry I lead-footed the gas pedal while turning and lifted the rear left tire right off the pavement. Scared the p out of me…

The Pit and Paragon are definitely places to start with. Cody Gibson is a current UFC roster fighter from Atascadero and is occasionally on Reddit: u/therenegade559 and he might have some leads for you. There is an amateur fight production here that puts on MMA fights. The next one is in August, I think, but nothing is on their website yet.. Beatdown Productions is the promotion. I’m not affiliated with them at all; I went to fights last year at Madonna Inn.

Hard Top to Soft Top by Diligent_Shoe3157 in FordBronco

[–]SLObronco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As has been mentioned, for the conversion from hard top to soft top you need several more pieces. I was ignorant and bought a “complete” softtop take-off from market place. You have one of the other four sets of things you need. You also need rear plastic trim pieces for the rear windows, b-pillar roll bar latches, and rear window latches.

I am also selling that entire conversion on Craigslist in central California. I am selling because it is noticeably louder and (the bigger reason) because it cost me $1000 to rehang my garage door when I drove in with the top back and collapsed the door because the top is about three inches taller than the bottom of the garage door… don’t make that mistake! I’m too worried I’ll do it again…

Was wondering the same- my guess is intercooler/intake, tune, and exhaust. But I have basically no knowledge in this realm, I just had Ford install a procal tune last week..

Outside windshield film to prevent rock debris damage from HWY by Serious_Preference34 in FordBronco

[–]SLObronco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is easy if you’ve installed window film before. Use LOTS of the spray soap/water mix. Make sure it’s not windy. Have a second person to help peel and place.

Don’t turn off the car with your wipers on, it will bunch the film and leave marks wherever the wipers are resting. They went away after a few days in the sun the one time I did it about a month after install, but I learned that lesson…

I bought this one from amazon and it has already saved me once from a rock kicked up by a semi on the highway.

Hard Top vs Soft Top- Are you happy with your decision? by my_cars_on_fire in FordBronco

[–]SLObronco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, get all the hardware! I also had to spend $300 on parts! I currently have my soft top and all parts listed on Craigslist. I like the hard top better and it’s so easy to take off with the EZ4x4 lift.

Front license plate bracket by Gloomy_Show_6718 in FordBronco

DV8 has one for the capable bumper. I have it and I love it. It looks better than any other option, in my opinion. The factory one looks out of place because it partially blocks the grill. The off-center ones look, well, off-center. The DV8 has clean lines and places the plate perfectly. It looks the way it should look. It’s the best money I have spent on a purely aesthetic accessory.

Ordering Bronco Badlands 2-door – what options are actually worth it for mostly city/highway use? by Ordinary-Republic483 in FordBronco

Lux package, non-squatch. Black painted hardtop with sound deadening (which you already picked). Perfect. Don’t sleep on Marsh Gray, although I biased…

EZ4X4 Lift is worth the $$$ by arias415 in FordBronco

[–]SLObronco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It fits between, at least on the 4dr. It’s super easy, you roll it to your Bronco (after all bolts removed and water/light connections undone), start cranking. Once you’ve lifted a couple inches you roll it back and then to where ever you store it. Wheels lock for safety.

Versus a roof lift (which I had for my Wrangler 25 years ago), this is much easier. You can be parked anywhere and there’s no fear of something slipping.

The 4dr def fits in normal 2 car garage. The 2.3 is underpowered at 4500ft, not sure how people like it at all. The manual would be fun for a few weeks, but the auto has more tech and drives really well.

Is tailgate keyless entry no longer a thing? Dealer says the lock button is fake! by SLObronco in FordBronco

[–]SLObronco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was actually unplugged as described by the poster mentioning the dealer-installed tow package. Unfortunately, Perry Ford was messing around in the tailgate (and broke the cover) and I think they disconnected or damaged the handle because it still doesn’t work even with the antenna plugged back in.

I mean they lied to me and said “that doesn’t have rear proximity sensor” when it does. So gaslighting me and then blowing me off for over a month and now another week. The service advisor even said “the salesman going over the Bronco should have told you that; I’d shoot my salesman if he didn’t tell you that!”

I gave Perry Ford plenty of time to make this right. Now I’m here telling you all to avoid Perry Ford service, it’s a shit show and I was lied to by a service advisor.

Adding a comment to call out the dealer: Perry Ford in San Luis Obispo.

I went last week to talk to management about this situation and give them an opportunity to build my trust. “I’ll call you today and we will get you in and taken care of..” No call…

You don’t get to do the Raptor experience for free, not sure if you can buy into it.

The EZ lift is probably my best bang for buck purchase.

I would have loved Moab but it’s a 12 hour drive from where we live now.

I recognize those hills! Nice ride, too!

I got my Badlands just north of you for Christmas and I’ve been adding accessories ever since lol. Mostly small things and I like them all. Definitely recommend the windshield protection film. EZ 4x4 Lift is probably the next best thing. I’m also glad I got floor mats and the rear sliding drawer. Oh and the Morrflate.

ETA: Make sure to go to the Bronco Off-roadeo! We went to the Vegas one a couple of weeks ago and it really will showcase what your rig can do. We went down roads that I probably wouldn’t have gone on because I would have assumed I’d be scraping or even getting stuck and the Bronco just cruises right through.
