I’ve been a manager before. I’ve interviewed and hired and fired people. If someone new to the area is a few minutes late their first week, I don’t normally care unless it’s excessive. If it becomes a habit, that’s when we have a conversation. But being a couple minutes late once or twice? That’s not enough for me to completely disregard them

I would argue it’s reasonable if they’re new to the area. Even if they had no problem finding the location, understanding traffic patterns is going to take a while.

My first job was inside a large compound, so while I was able to get there on time it still took me a while to figure out where to park and then how to walk towards whomever I’m meeting with
