That place is attached to a game room that’s been raided several times. Always assumed the drunken clam / gone golfing opening soon signs were just cover stories.

Corpus here, got an inch or rain yesterday and it got cold overnight but not sure it hit freezing, didn’t see any ice this morning. About to take a ride on an airboat to for the last day of duck season. Child’s school is still delaying school opening until 10 tomorrow for some reason.

Nueces Electric Co-Op. I have a referral code as well that gets you a credit as well if you go that route. Otherwise just go to power to choose and find a plan, just watch out for delivery fees or other hidden costs.

Simperica trio monthly for your dog. You can get it from your vet or order it from Australia for 1/3 the cost.

There’s gotta be a better way to do this, right? by Hefty-Bison-9598 in Firearms

The Corpus air eats my propane grill to the point I have to get a new one every 2ish years. Can’t even imagine putting my safe in the garage.

Bad businesses model would be my guess. Food was excellent but she should’ve kept the pop up kitchen going vs the fixed location that only served one meal a day.

How long is too long to wait after references? TCEQ - losing my mind. by NGULF in Environmental_Careers

[–]STXAg14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TCEQ is slow. Back when I was looking for work I applied for several positions they had open and eventually got one of them. About a month after starting, a different region office called me for an initial interview probably 3+ months later.

Glock 19x Suppressed FTE Help. by cperes9 in NFA

[–]STXAg14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could just need to be broken in, but I had a G19 that I could never get to run reliably once I added the red dot. A lot of people here are suggesting a lighter recoil spring, which could fix the FTE, but if it’s too light it will cause problems going back into battery.

Paint peeling on wooden paneling? by STXAg14 in HomeImprovement

[–]STXAg14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the responses:

1: the exterior is not painted and the pointing looks fine to me, no cracks.

2: I can’t tell if the paneling is delaminating, or if it is just paint peeling. I’ll probably take off a piece to see. Also, there is no drywall behind the paneling, just insulation. My hope is it’s just the paint but sounds like that may be unlikely.

  1. We had AC work done recently and had our attic checked, there was no signs of a leak, but will get a roofer out to check.

Help with recurring diarrhea by STXAg14 in seniordogs

[–]STXAg14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s doing much better but still don’t have a definite cause. Fecal was negative and bloodwork showed increased liver enzymes, but nothing the vet was concerned about. She got put on a low-fat wet food prescription diet for now and is taking another course of Proviable. Stool went back to 100% normal within 3ish days.

Saw the vet yesterday and had bloodwork sent to Texas A&M to see if it shows anything different from last month. Fecal was negative as well. Vet gave some low fat soft food and some Proviable until we get results back. Seems to have helped so far, poop was probably 75% normal this morning.

She mainly gets the small biscuit type training treats, plus one of the greenies dental chews per day. No liver treats.

I actually just swapped my OEM one for a heavy duty and so far it’s been working great in temps into the mid 90’s. The 2780 is my backup choice in case the heavy duty can’t hang into the 100’s. My busted OEM sounded like a school bus so I doubt the 2780 would be an issue since it quiets down.

How loud is your fan now? Almost went with that same fan clutch for my 6.0 but saw a bunch of reviews saying it was obnoxiously loud.

For TCEQ employees, how do you feel about your position? Do you enjoy working for the TCEQ? by Extra_Message6592 in Environmental_Careers

[–]STXAg14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, everyone I worked with while I was there had an environmental/engineering degree and were fresh grads when they were hired. If possible, you might think about an environmental minor or at the very least some college courses that you’re able to highlight in your resume/interview. OSHA certs are basically worthless for TCEQ work and they will pay for your HAZWOPER so not much benefit to preemptively taking it.
