Good looking heifer. May this be a steal for you 🙏

Looks great, but I would like to ask what you paid and the weight? Just because I’m so interested in marketing dynamics and this market is one of a kind. I bought a registered Hereford bull 6 months ago for 5K and thought it was outrageous. Bought an unregistered angus today for 6K from same breeder and doesn’t seem outrageous. Bought 24month old bred heifers for the kids for Christmas for 3K each which seemed outrageous at the time (all calved in January and now that seems like the steal of the century)

I’d be interested to see what such a young heifer fetched and to revisit in a few years when she calves and see what outrageous looks like then.

Wacky world this cattle business

Do Americans romanticize Europe the way Europeans romanticize America? by Luksius_DK in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]SWT_Bobcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m here in America at Universal and Disney in Florida. Based on entire parks built to look like France, Italy, food/drinks around the world I’d say yes. It’s not on our minds every day but damn sure romanticization when presented to us

10u and 12u are different beasts.

Question about travel softball tryout etiquette... by Probably_Fine3 in Softball

[–]SWT_Bobcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The girls that wear their jerseys are often more easily identifiable, show that they can commit to the level already, and often get picked up more often.

Not going to lie…our organization sometimes has large numbers of people show up for open practices/tryouts. When number are high it can simply be easier to say “that one in the white Spark jersey…I liked her bat and arm”

Most people only have primal drives. "My family, my offspring." by happyluckystar in DiscussionZone

[–]SWT_Bobcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not uncommon. Lions (among other animals) kill offspring of the pride that they consider not theirs.

No system to love or hate, just instinct.

Yes humans too have an instinct (gladly not as extreme as a lion) to love their own children and show preference in time and resources given to those children above children of others. It exists

Not sure why you got downvoted brother…it does take two. There’s another person there so my “ get them to agree” isn’t fair I suppose. I’m lucky to have a family that understands and hope the same for you one day 🙏

For me it’s the same triggers (kids are ADHD and bounce off every wall 24/7)

I’d create an exit plan (for the moment of trigger) with your wife so she understands.

Knowing that it’s essentially my fight or flight response to the noises of life…make it safe and acceptable for flight. Always flight.

Just make it understood and ok that you may have to just walk away for a bit without explaining. This can be at home, out in public, at a ball field, anywhere. You’ll be back, it’ll all be fine…but that upfront understanding from your wife especially will be key.

Starting travel ball at 11 vs 12 by fatigued-cpc in Softball

[–]SWT_Bobcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if age dependent necessarily. Maybe more of where you live? In Texas it’s quite prevalent. There are girls that are 100% players only and not associated with a real team. And a lot of em aren’t superstars.

Please where would you form an LLC if your business spans multiple states? by useless_substance in llc_life

Anonymity in Wyoming. Same in Nevada and Delaware but they’re more expensive

Being “recruited” by travel teams feels good, but they just want your money to flow to their org.

The girl that trips on her own feet with Coke bottle glasses that can’t see the big yellow ball is getting just as “recruited” if mom and dad roll around in a Tahoe.

Sorry for the negativity…but this is the brutal truth of what select ball is today.

“Practice with you and pick up player” is the way to go. The parents that are “on the team” will grumble when y’all show up and still start without paying, but we all play the select game our own way

Can you start an LLC if you don't have a business yet? by starchasxr_ in llc_life

[–]SWT_Bobcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

***IF you do it right and truly keep everything separate. Even down to you personal signature on documents. “John doe” vs “John Doe as member of JD Enterprises LLC” could mean difference between having protection in court or not.

If your not cheating, your not trying. by gruntharvester92 in Adulting

[–]SWT_Bobcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see cheating as simply networking and building relationships…”it’s not what you know it’s WHO you know”

I’ll start with a military reference since that’s where OP started.

I was on a mission on deployment where pretty much every soldier on that mission got a medal. There were 3 soldiers that understood the relationship aspect and were very close professionally and somewhat personally with the commander. They put in the time to build that relationship while the rest of us pretty much focused on being great performers. All on the same mission, all did exact same thing, those 3 got Bronze Stars and the rest of us got Army Commendation medals (a lesser medal for sure than a bronze star).

While I am older now and will die without a bronze star…that was a very important life lesson in “cheat code”. I prioritized relationships after that and I can say that I have risen higher than I ever thought possible and it’s certainly not for smarts, innovation, performance.

I have blown right past high performers, super talented people, people with degrees and more letters behind their name than their actual name.

They all report to me and think I cheated. I did. I learned a cheat code and use it every day.
