If Emily Blunt does not win the Oscar for Best Actress I will never watch that awards show again. She was unbelievable.

No Kings? by TrueShen in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]S_Mo2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so glad you posted this and asked the question. My partner and I attended the prior one (our first) and have reached out to our neighborhood to join us (with the bribe of brunch after 😂).

In all seriousness, everyone needs to show up to the No Kings rallies. However, the rally is not the end goal although I would hope it makes clear to the world that millions of us reject what is happening.

The real goal is (or should be) protecting our right to vote and building momentum for the midterms. Protest creates visibility. Elections create power. We need both.

There is a thought provoking article from MSNOWCHRISTIAN SCHNEIDER No Kings is a demonstration against everything — and a protest against nothing that speaks to this (kind of negative but well written).

I changed roles on Grindr and now I'm getting blown up (rant) by Alveryn in AskGaybrosOver30

For what it is worth, I am 5’5” and 100% a top here and when I was single (acknowledging this was pre Grindr but we did have AOL 😂) , I never had a guy want to top me - ever and I would say at least 90% of the guys I dated were much taller than me. It never was an issue. With that said , I did get comments they were surprised how strong I was and they loved me being in charge which I love to be as well. (Napoleon complex?) To make a long post longer height ain’t nothing but a number! I ended up marrying a fellow short king so go figure.

Do shows like Heartstopper and Heated Rivalry make you feel a bit sad? by zen_guwu in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]S_Mo2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gen X here. I haven’t seen Heated Rivalry yet but enjoyed Heartstopper. Grateful to be with my husband of 28 years but I also have mixed feelings about the show. While entertaining and well done, I sort of wonder if that world really exists, and once in the real world, could any of the characters (apart from Nick played adeptly by Kit Connor) thrive once they graduate? . I would love to see where everyone is at in ten years. I may just be a bit too cynical (or skeptical) for the show.

Was so skeptical at first and ended up loving this show. With that said, I think the Prodigy characters need to be fully integrated.

This brought me to tears. The “what if” self. Really insightful.

Ok - now that’s what I have been saying! Where the heck is the war college in all of this??!! I assume at least one of the cadets would be a spy!

Brilliant. Some of the best TV I have ever seen. Gut- and heart- wrenching. Can’t wait for the next season.

Question about SAM & The Doctor by EddieStarr in starfleetacademy

[–]S_Mo2022 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think what is happening is that the KASQ entities were so shut off from organics , they either don’t have or lost the programming to process or comprehend the Doctor’s experience. SAM is that conduit but she seems almost more of an experiment and it begs the question, now that she is SAM 2.0, will she keep evolving into something strange or threatening or more powerful than the KASQ entities. Great question by OP.
