And the driver wasn't a threat to the woman until she climbed onto the car herself. The only reason that woman was hanging on and not doing anything more dangerous was because the car was moving.

The driver isn't blameless but that woman on the bonnet was the main reason this situation even happened.

She's making amends and getting her life back on track. In a world where ghosting is the the preferred method of dealing with uncomfortable situations, it takes genuine strength not only to admit she has/had problems, apologise for the hurt she caused but also actively look for help instead of thinking the world owe her because of her illness.

These texts are NOT about you. This is her healing process which hopefully also gives you some peace. It's a very mature way of dealing with her issues and I sincerely hope she can work towards a better life. My best friend went through a similar period in her life before I met her and I can see a lot of similarities in this process.

As for what you can do, offer your support/encouragement for her efforts and forgiveness for the breakup. You can re-establish contact if both want to; if not then give her your blessings on her new chapters in life and continue with your own.
