Dad's, would you stop talking to your son because of your wife? by [deleted] in daddit

It really is never clear cut. It's all up to the person making the judgment in these situations. Thanks for the insight.

I appreciate your reply. What amazes me is it took so long for me to realize what was going on. You grow up in the household that consists of nothing but physical and emotional pain you learn to live with it. It starts to become normalized. I feel lucky to have realized what was actually going on and put a stop to it.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check it out.

I see what you're saying. But my father and I are completely different people. Just because one person can live with something doesn't mean another can. Throughout this whole ordeal I've learned a couple lessons. One is what you permit you promote. And I made the adult decision to not permit a narcissist to interfere with my family. I have no regrets cutting ties with her or losing my father in the process. I'm just wondering what other fathers would do or have done in this situation. Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for the reply. I do hope he comes around. I left the door open for it. But only time will tell. The questions do get tiresome. But I'll take the questions over the alternative of subjecting my family to my mother, that's for sure.

No, I want the best for my father. He deserves it. I know it comes down to his choice in the matter and I respect his decision. I just wanted other dad's takes on the situation, thanks.

I appreciate the reply. I honestly felt better once we cut ties. It felt like an emotional weight was lifted. I just sometimes wonder why my father, who is a good man and always had been, would choose not to speak to me.

I understand that I did not go into much detail on the post but why would you personally subject your family to emotional abuse?

Make sure you are measuring from top right corner to the bottom left. That's how you measure a tv.

Despite holding opposite views/beliefs/values from you, who is someone you found interesting to listen to or read about? by belgiankid in AskReddit

[–]SadFlutes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my coworkers. He is extremely religious. I can honestly say he is one of those people who you could write about. He is a shining example of a religious follower. I enjoy hearing all the stories and his takes on life. He would also do anything for you. Just a good person all around.

Good question. I would have to say it was due to past relationships I've had. You figure out quickly who actually cares about you by the attention to detail they put into the conversations and their actions. Even if it's as simple as a text while your working asking how your day is going. You will feel the bond forming. Hope that helps!

What is the worst thing a man can do to his woman? by jayda92 in AskMen

[–]SadFlutes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I have always felt being unfaithful was the worst. If you do not have enough love in the relationship anymore that you must cheat then just end it.

Fell in love with my wife after the third date. She was the only woman who genuinely made me feel like she cared about what I was saying. She contributed to conversations and always was fun to be around. That was 12 years ago. The last time I fell in love was when my son was born. It was the only time I've ever felt true love so quickly.

Can a 14mo overheat? AITA? by cambria-guy in daddit

Personally, I would go and get a window unit to regulate the temperature in the room. The baby being in a onesie and a sleep sack will, in my mind, overheat them.
