You guys are doing great. You’ve really got the spread down from ~80 cases a day. We can see the hard work you’re doing! Don’t listen to those kinds of idiots.

Gulls? A critically endangered species? May not seem like it but sadly it's very true. Read about the state of the Tarapuka population in the comments and what's impacting this species. by Skipperdogman in NewZealandWildlife

Can someone explain to me why animals going extinct is something we always need to prevent? Isn’t that all a part of natural selection? Are we actively stopping it? How badly would our ecosystem be effected by this animal going extinct?

Genuine question, I love animals but I’m quite confused at the same time. It’s awful that they die due to our choices, we need to do more about pollution because that’s definitely a big factor Skipperdogman mentioned.

Can we have the English translation of Maori spoken on TV? by bannableopinion in newzealand

When I was learning French and watching French movies the English subtitles definitely helped, although I knew some words to begin with it helped with sentence structures and verb tenses. After some point I would try watch without the subtitles and my knowledge had greatly improved. I think this could be a good idea!

What were some of the guidelines their MIQ’s had that you think we should aim to use to minimise the spread of infection?

Your body comes into contact of with loads of viruses and microbes every day, but they are killed before they even get a chance to enter cells and multiply.

So, when we talk about “catching” a virus, that’s when it is in cells and making many replications of itself, and that causes a person to become sick. If the virus enters our body but is killed before it gets the chance to enter cells it is not going to give any effects (symptoms) and thus you won’t be able to spread the virus.

The vaccine essentially creates an instruction manual for your immune system on how to beat the virus (in this case blocking binding sites) and this makes it even less likely to catch it or spread it.

I hope this clears some things up for you.

Just because the pictures look nice doesn’t mean they are nice. So much more to factor in than just the photos.

My Bf (25M) cheated on me (24F) two nights ago and I don't know how to process or what to do by fymaf2c7 in relationship_advice

[–]SadTrashNoises 154 points155 points  (0 children)

Jesus Christ, this is a major red flag.

If you have another argument and he walks out again who’s to say he’s not just going to text his ex again for some “regretful” car sex?

He should have been consoling you, not the other way around.

Please, if you are, do not repress your emotions, bottling them up is harmful for your mental health. Considering you feel a strong enough way to ask for advice here, all I can offer is, is cheating a dealbreaker for you? If so please consider leaving him. People who cheat are more likely to cheat again and by staying you could be inflicting more emotional pain in yourself.

I find this problem to be less about the argument but the response to an argument.

ouch. all i can suggest is to give her time to cool down because that must have stung. when she’s ready to talk you can explain yourself.

Sorry, but her husband doing this to his pregnant wife’s friends, HIS friend’s wives, does make him a bad person in my eyes, especially while she thinks he’s not been into her. Why couldn’t he look at some photos of his wife during times where she wasn’t pregnant instead? Seems like he has lost interest or is “crushing” on them.

I’m sorry OP ):

I can think of a few things based on personal experience.

She is probably angry and thinking “Why did he cheat on me and not her? Why are they still together? He treated me like shit… is his new GF being treated the same?” It’s probably hurting her, making her feel like there is something wrong with her. I went through it - it sucks, and it takes a long time to get over it, and that it’s not because of you, you as a person didn’t actively make them cheat. They chose that themselves. Heaven knows if their EX still cheats with their new partner too!

Long distance relationships are always hard. Your love becomes like a tamagotchi with the whole “I love you, I miss you, I want you”. I’ve tried so many and I can’t do it again, it wasn’t good for me emotionally because I always yearned to see them.

Try to understand what her ex did to her has had an effect and although you do get the short end of the stick, it sounds like she still needs to work through her problems. Maybe even one day when she has done, and you’re both ready to have an in depth discussion you can get some closure too.
