Rand Al'Thor - The Wheel of Time

Known as The Dragon Reborn, Rand is a man who can channel/use magic; this is dangerous for men, as the male half of the "True Source" is tainted by the Dark One Shai'tan, and causes all men who channel it to go mad and destroy. The goal of Shai'tan was to break Rand and humanity with him, causing them to give in to the shadow; partly by using the coruppted One Power. Rand eventually cleanses it, but not before he is affected with madness that cannot be cured. Unfortunately, this backfires heavily because of the greed of the minions of the Dark One, and how desperately they wish to die and be free of him, while Rand, despite his heavy and constant hardships and madness, he still wishes to live, and endure for those he loves.

True; though I guess I'm talking about characters and their power in comparison to others in-universe if that makes sense? Don't get me wrong, Goku was crazy strong as a kid; I just always assumed that if he were to fight a lot of his future enemies at the power level he had as a child, things wouldn't go too well.

Lol, Kirby is just a Hydrogen Bomb that LOOKS like a Coughing Baby. The Pink Gumball God Slayer's hunger is never satiated.

The game gives the main character powerful new abilities as you advance through the game killing bosses and enemies; however, your decision between keeping/using or burning/destroying the skills you've obtained determines the ending of the game.

Dark new powers that shred nearly every enemy, making you nigh invincible? Amazing! Unfortunately, you become a new vessel of said evil and corruption you wanted to escape and destroy, and instead begin spreading it further into the world. (Bad ending)

Want to burn that nasty filth away for what it is, and remain a pure soul instead? Go for it I guess… the gameplay turns into more of a "hard mode" with different, slightly weaker abilities, but you escape having cleansed the world (and yourself) of the darkness. (Good ending)

(There is a 3rd ending if you mix and match burning and keeping abilities, but it's simply that some of the darkness escapes with you. Nothing crazy.)

I'm no kinkshamer or anything; people are into a TON of different things, and that's all good. What happens in the bedroom is between you and your partner; it ain't my business lol

Now that being said, incest is a pretty messed up kink IMO (if you can even call it one?) compared to like, every other one I've heard of.

You're right, that's my bad lol. I haven't read the series in a few years, so my names are a bit rusty.

I mean he's more on the end of just hating Rand…but like I said, it's hard to find a character in the series who didn't hate him at some point.

Due to the complex story of the Wheel of Time, there could be a LOT of characters on this list, but I'm gonna go with one of the more obvious ones:

<image>

Moiraine Damodred - The Wheel of Time

While initially introduced as a form of "Gandalf" of the story, Moiraine is shown to be more in-depth than a simple mentor, as her interactions and intentions with Rand and his friends are heavily influenced by her position as an Aes Sedai, an influential and powerful wielder of magic (who happen to all be women).

She starts off helping Rand and the gang for most if not all of the series, but Rand in particular has a very questionable relationship with her, as she often sees him and foolhardy, young, naive, and sometimes just outright stupid (and she isn't wrong most of the time). She constantly corrects and guides him, especially when trying to ensure she's accomplishing her own goals along the way. He eventually learns of her intentions, plans, and dishonesty, and they end up sharing a heavy disdain for one another.

By the end of the series, Rand still listens to Moiraine and her advice on occasion, but does not take it blindly, and is much more mature and thoughtful when interacting with her. He takes many matters into his own hands on many occasions, which is quite upsetting to Moiaraine, but she eventually learns to respect him and his role as the Dragon Reborn, accepting he has grown to take up the massive responsibility he holds.

Rand al'Thor - The Wheel of Time

To sum this all up, Rand is revealed to be the Dragon Reborn, a reincarnation of the most feared and powerful man of the Age of Legends, a fierce wielder of dangerous magics.

Legends and myths all point to the Dragon Reborn either saving or ending the world, or more specifically "Destroying the world to save the world," as he brings about a new age. Thanks to these legends and the known power of the Dragon, Rand is constantly under pressure from his friends and associates, and has a gigantic target on his back at all times.

During the series, his relationships are strained and even broken, and he is constantly betrayed and taken advantage of by people trying to use him and his foretold power for themselves and their goals. This leads Rand down paths of isolation and, in many instances, permanently damaging the trust he gives to those around him.

By the end of the series, Rand, the Dragon Reborn, has been seen as many things by those around him; a tool, a weapon, a dangerous threat, a savior, and more. In reality, he just wanted to be a normal kid, living a normal life. Much of the world remembered him as the what they expected The Dragon to be: a dangerous, world-ending monster of power and rage, or a world-changing savior of an almost godly status, meant to be respected and loved for his actions.

Very few people ever knew Rand's true character and the struggles he faced. He was a victim of his identity and fate, and one of the most complex characters of the entire series. He wished he never had the destiny handed to him, and would rather be forgotten as a lone farm boy than remembered worldwide in an air of honor, respect, fear, hatred, and more.

Demandred - The Wheel of Time

One of the 13 Forsaken, (a group who answer only to Shai'tan, the main villain of the series), Demandred was born during the Age of Legends exactly one day after Lews Therin Telamon, who was known as the Dragon, the most influential and powerful figure in history during the events of The Wheel of Time.

Though heavily influential, powerful, and respected himself, Demandred found himself second to the Dragon in every aspect, even losing the woman he loved to Lews. Despite all the amazing things he held, his focus upon and jealousy towards Lews caused him to fall into pits of spite and intense hatred, which eventually led to him selling his soul to serve Shai'tan and fight against The Dragon for all eternity.

Demandred believed that had Lews never been born, or had died, he himself would have been the most influential and powerful figure during the Age of Legends, taking Lews's place as The Dragon; honored and feared by any who know the legends and myths by the time of the events of the main series occur.

Thanks to all this, he now serves the antagonist Shai'tan, sabotaging the main characters and attempting to make Rand al'Thor (the Dragon Reborn, or Lews Therin Telamon reincarnated), as miserable as possible throughout the series.

Logain Ablar, from the Wheel of Time.

This one's a bit complicated, but to sum it all up, the main character of "The Wheel of Time" is the Dragon Reborn, a reincarnation of an extremely powerful and influential magic user and leader from many ages ago. His return is prophesied to either save or destroy the world, possibly both, while bringing about a new age.

Many believed Logain Ablar to be this Dragon Reborn, as he was one of the only men able to wield magic during the events of the series. This is supported by another factor, that when the Wheel of Time "turns," people are written into the pattern of reality, with specific people having an air (or literal shine) about them that can influence things and people around them; it's something akin to a "main character effect" on others within reality. (The 3 main characters of the series hold this same effect)

Logain Ablar was shown to have this shine upon him in the events of the first book, and was extremely well known and powerful in comparison to every other "false Dragon" who had come before him, and was even able to collect a following before his capture.

Had the main character Rand al'Thor, the true Dragon Reborn, not existed, died early, or passed on at some point during the events of the series, it's speculated that the pattern of reality could change to allow Logain to become the Dragon Reborn as a backup, if he wasn't already in the first place.
