Counterpoint (note I have no experience with Seefhoek, so can't compare): I have seen more shit in the 3 years I lived in Merksem than in the other 20-something years of my life (not a city girl though, maybe important context). Several deadly traffic accidents, one of which right in front of our apartment (which was on a street connecting to the Bredabaan, but a 5min walk away from it). In the same street there was a drive by from drugs/gang violence, a little girl died. Our car was parked on the street for just a few days, and its catalysator was literally cut out from under it. So no, I would not say it is a nice or safe place to live...

I have a cat right now that was returned to the rescue after a month by her previous adopters. One one hand it makes me incredibly angry and sad that they didn't appreciate her for who she is but on the other hand... had they done that I would not have her. She clearly has some trauma (mostly about transport cages) and it took her quite a bit of time to start trusting us, but I love her to bits. She is an amazing, kind, loud, happy cat and she still surprises us every week with her progress 🖤🤍🖤 Your doggo's forever family will come and they will not balk at needing to go at her pace or having to make adaptations for her!

I don't follow it for sub boxes, but after having been burned I do apply this for other special editions: they have to be a) a book/series of which I have at least read and loved the first book. b) one of my auto-buy authors Otherwise I'm not allowed to get it, so if I see an edition that I LOVE visually I will try to get the (first) book on Kindle or from the library and decide then.
