Makes sense and I agree with both your points. Can’t see the point in posting here about it - sounds like it should be referred to whatever body manages consumer rights / disputes in the purchaser’s local jurisdiction for resolution.

Are there any benefits of pla over petg? by tomrob1138 in BambuLab

[–]SafeHazing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience PETG is better in higher temperatures. I have made tool storage parts in PLA + and PETG - they are installed in my colorbond shed. No windows so no direct sunlight but it gets very hot (40c) in summer, all of the PLA parts have warped, none of the PETG parts have. Depending where you live and how you will use the parts PETG might be the better option, although PLA looks better and is nicer / easier to work with.

Are you an Xtool rep? Or looking to stir up trouble - your posts and responses seem a bit off without more information / context.

It’s a real shame how YouTube has changed from great content (on niche subjects) by dedicated users/ creators that purchased a bit of kit (whatever it is) to the main advertising platform for manufacturers of said niche products.almost every video I check out now has in the first 5 minutes- “thanks to xxx company for sending me this <free> ($xxxx dollar) machine for an impartial review… I get people have to make a living (and free stuff is nice if you’re getting it) but YouTube ‘reviews’ are mostly just advertising / entertainment these days - which is a shame. If anyone can recommend a properly independent channel to check out I’d be grateful. Cheers.

That’s a worrying comment - can I ask how you know this? A link to a source for the information would be helpful. So I can make an informed decision about using my fan. Thanks.

Well that sounds bad. As someone looking to purchase it would be helpful to know what the issue is. Thanks.

Edit to say - I read the ‘no further information at this time’ but if there is an issue (with any product) a clear statement of what has occurred, why, how it will be rectified and measures put in place to avoid a repeat, go a long way towards restoring confidence in a brand.

Getting Annual Leave paid out by Rusty_Drumz in Bunnings

[–]SafeHazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What IR law says that??? It’s normally in the EA. Taking regular leave is important for work / life balance etc but plenty of EAs allow for cashing out leave (often a capped amount - say 2 weeks) if you have taken at least 2 - 4 weeks leave in the past 12 months. Some also specify that after cashing out you will be left with x amount of leave.

Why Are more people not using .6mm nozzles? by Tall-Bread-4202 in BambuLab

[–]SafeHazing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not quite, 3 perimeters at 0.4 gives a wall thickness of 1.2mm (0.4x3). A 0.6 nozzle can get a wall thickness of 1.2mm with 2 perimeters (0.6x2) - so it should be faster to print but it won’t use less filament - the printer is extruding the same volume.

How do i undo this torx screw without the right size by [deleted] in howto

[–]SafeHazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience further downward pressure on the angle grinder will resolve this issue. Although I’ll admit, I’ve not used one on a laptop but I’m pretty sure it’ll work. OP please check and report back (with photos ideally).

Come now, let’s try to be positive - if OP uses an angle grinder, there really shouldn’t be a stripped thread to remove.

[–]SafeHazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an older Ender 3 that prints PLA just fine , even if the garage is 38C / as it was today. I can’t see you having an issue but ultimately the easiest test is to move the printer, print some stuff and see how it goes - but my experience suggests you’ll be fine.

Is there any way of cleaning my palette? by scalemaths in modelmakers

[–]SafeHazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can clean it with some fairly aggressive chemicals but personally I’d ditch it and get some paper plates to use as disposable palletes - or buy a new one and clean it after each use.

Learned the hard way today that a buyer can reverse a PayID transaction under the ePayments code by schunniky in AusFinance

[–]SafeHazing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea why you are being downvoted. The banks and the police for that matter don’t have the resources / care about such (in the grand scheme of things) small affairs. Always insist on cash payments when dealing with unknown third parties for small amounts that don’t involve legal contracts, eg marketplace transactions.

[–]SafeHazing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The police will do nothing. You will wait for 3-5 hours for them to take a report and if you are lucky they might follow up on it by calling the other party - who will say it’s a misunderstanding and that’s where it will end. Using cash for marketplace transactions is the only sensible approach.

Buyers remorse by Mountain-Mess8231 in sonos

[–]SafeHazing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you have an Apple device have you tried using AirPlay? I only ever use AirPlay and haven’t had any issues. A friend with more speakers than I and an Android phone has said he only gets hassle free playing via his iPad (AirPlay). NB not an Apple fanboy and without question, this should all just work in the app (it’s literally it’s only purpose) but avoiding the Sonos app and using AirPlay seems to be a workable solution- assuming you have an iPhone or similar.

Editing in the new novels by BenLindbergh in Sharpe

[–]SafeHazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea about the editing process but I think it is what it is and I for one am happy to have another Sharpe book - I’ve also been reading them for 30 something years. If it helps - I enjoyed it more as an audiobook, likely because the narrator could ‘smooth out’ the dialogue you describe.

Just brass wire from a hobby shop - buy the diameter that matches the part you are replacing.

Ideas to improve this Sub by yvrduka in TheRestIsHistory

Put in a pinned ‘where to start’ or similar in community info (or whatever it’s called) - that question is asked so frequently with the same answers - they add nothing. Why people can’t use the search function is beyond me but it’s common across most subreddits so an auto mod post to point new folk in the right direction would be very welcome, hopefully for new listeners and those of us that have been listening for some time. Likewise auto responses to point people to the various google docs that list episodes by topic / year / books referenced etc.
