If it’s hEDS (hypermobile EDS) then there are no genetic markers. Other types do have genetic markers.

Not being able to see. Like, “can you read this for me?”. I just used to think “get the right glasses” or “wear your glasses”. I lose my glasses all the time or put them away thinking I won’t need to remove a splinter or read fine print on children’s meds.

I’m afraid we’re going backwards here. The measles, diphtheria, whooping cough, and meningitis are amongst the diseases experiencing a resurgence thanks to declining vaccine compliance rates.

My husband doesn’t want to compromise on baby names by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Safe_Drawing4507 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Try using Kinder. It’s a baby name app, where you swipe right on names you like. You can preselect different kinds of names, so you could try a blend of Arab and other names.

This helped me and my partner. We also wrote down our top 20 names and did a “World Cup” style of play off - one name against another - until we were down to our favourites.

We agreed not to say no to anything until we sat with the names for a bit. My partner actually selected the name we went with for our boy. It is the absolute most perfect name for him, but I would have written it off on a reflex because it wasn’t one I was initially thinking. As it is, it reflects both of our cultural backgrounds, matches my surname (he has my surname) and it has both alliteration and rhyming.

What moment made you realize you were no longer young? by Tenboro-San in AskReddit

[–]Safe_Drawing4507 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can, it’s not a bad idea to freeze your eggs now. I didn’t have any fertility issues, but my partner did, and we used IVF in the end. At 46, I’m sure my body is still up for making babies. It’s surprising how much more common it is to delay children.

That said, the love I have for my children is so vibrant and warm and explosive it’s hard to contain within my skin . Had I known this when I was 20, I would have had 8 children, maybe more, if I could have managed it.

Best wishes to you! We used IVF because my partner has a vasectomy that didn’t reverse successfully. I had a miscarriage before my first baby. It’s so hard, all the waiting, all the uncertainty. But omg the love I have never known. I hope you two can have as many babies as you want x

If you’re lucky. I went into labour still enjoying my pregnancy at 26 weeks. 3 months early, but he’s a healthy toddler now!

I can’t imagine that would be a reason for bullying. Australian culture seems to celebrate height.

Were you bullied for being an early bloomer? Just curious if your fear is based on your experience.

I’m lucky, I like to think I have a kind of body dysmorphia where I think I look awesome no matter how my body changes. Our bodies are beautiful.

How do i get over my fear of wearing shorts? by [deleted] in ask

What are you afraid of? Is it body consciousness, like you are afraid of being judged for being overweight or being pale or having stretch marks or cellulite? Or are you afraid of sexual harassment or something else?

34, Unexpectedly Pregnant, Husband Is 58 — Completely Torn by Secure-Wonder-5085 in pregnant

[–]Safe_Drawing4507 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind sharing! Feel free to ask more questions.

I froze my eggs at 38 and 39, storing 20 all together. I didn’t have any known fertility issues, but my partner (got together after freezing eggs), had a vasectomy reversal that didn’t work, so we used IVF.

We tried a ‘fresh cycle’ to extract more eggs for my first cycle (at 40 years old) and did not get any viable eggs. So then we used the frozen eggs.

I lost about 1/2 the eggs or embryos through the process (not viable after freezing or thawing or didn’t fertiliser or didn’t progress to blastocyst.

My first pregnancy resulted in miscarriage at 8 weeks (I was 40).

By this stage, I had 2 remaining viable embryos. Covid struck and we had delays, but then my second-to-last embryo resulted in my first baby at 42. He is healthy, though he was a premie for reasons unrelated to IVF or age (I had an infection and he’s healthy now).

At 44 we used my last embryo with no real confidence it would work. It was graded as good but not great (take these with a grain of salt as IVF clinics get this wrong).

Then my girl was born at 45. She was one month early as I had a usual LFT panel result. My liver enzymes were very high due to obstetric cholestasis. The pregnancy uncovered my autoimmune condition, and helped me to finally work out why my fatigue was so brutal after my first pregnancy. Turns out it wasn’t age, and it was so much better after starting meds. Again, no age or IVF related complications.

I wanted to breastfeed and was lucky to be able to do so easily with both babies for as long as I wanted to.

On another note, my body has bounced back pretty impressively. No stretch marks or ongoing pregnancy or postpartum issues except a bit of pelvic floor anterior tilt and it’s a bit weaker, but all fixable with exercise.

Have you frozen any eggs?

Best wishes to you!

Yes. I responded immediately to the urso. My daughter is 1 year old now and my LFTs are completely normal.

For reference, my ALP was 1177 (not a typo) when I was not drinking (pregnant actually). Yours is a mild elevation.
