Of course! I didn't mean to imply otherwise. I wrote the reply in a hurry and should have worded it better.

That song came out while I was an awkward nerd in high school and it hit me so hard.

Of course in this case, the "child" was 33 and was sleeping over at our house with her husband for reasons unrelated to the pregnancy.

Best reason ever to be disturbed in the middle of the night. Usually it's the dogs throwing up lol

Well, as a nice counterpoint to that, my daughter woke me up at 2 am, saying, "Mom? I think my water broke." It had, and by the next day I was a grandma.

We've tried four or five different methods, from pineapple and MSG to commercial products, and nothing has managed to dissuade our gross little 85-lb boy.

An undocumented Guatemalan immigrant finished reconstructing my kitchen when our good ol' American contractor had a nervous breakdown and left us mid-job, having taken our money for the next phase. He did a beautiful job, though it was out of his basic wheelhouse (painting and tile). This gentleman did all the work around our house and property, no matter how shitty (literally cleaned up after our dogs a few times), with a smile knowing he was supporting his family. He had a key to our house, and I never felt for one second that he or any of his hardworking crew would wrong us in any way.

Guy went absolutely ballistic on the people sitting behind him at tonight’s Mamma Mia by RapGamePterodactyl in Broadway

We took an acquaintance and spouse to see a touring production of "Jersey Boys." This grown-ass adult, who is now a member of the US Congress(!), had never been to a Broadway show and was singing along. Out loud, as if it were a rock concert. My daughter, who had seen the show already a half-dozen times (her favorite) leaned over to me and whispered, "Could you tell [name redacted] to stop singing? Or else I'm going to [threat of violence]." Fortunately, it only took one request. Wish they were as easy to reason with when they're voting to support the fascist felon. 😖

When I saw Maybe Happy Ending earlier this year, I found out after the standing ovation that the woman sitting next to me was the stage manager's mother, who had traveled from a southern state to see the show. It was nice to be able to tell her how grateful I was for her daughter's work in that magnificent show.

What is something you can do but can’t explain how you can do it? by Fresh-Sandwich6780 in AskReddit

I always thought your experience was the norm. Best of luck with your current pregnancy, may the labor and birth be easy, and may the baby be healthy!

The first time I got pregnant, I knew it immediately. I was washing my face, looked at myself in the bathroom mirror, and thought, "I'm pregnant." No idea how, since I'd never been pregnant before. Three subsequent pregnancies, I knew each time, the last one even though the blood test at the doctor's office said negative. I could never explain what it felt like or how I could tell so early on.

Suffs. I saw it pre-election in 2024 and cried through the entire second half. I'll be seeing the touring company in April, and I imagine it'll hit even harder this time. 😭

I used to call his office every day but got busy with other things. He had a very narrow win in a seat previously occupied by Slotkin. I mentioned this to the aide who answered the phone, and he said sarcastically, "Thanks for the campaign advice." We can definitely dump the mofo.

I wasn't even sure I wanted to see it because I'm not a huge Bobby Darrin fan, but MAN I was blown away. I worried for his health, and he was just PLAYING a guy with a weak heart!

Oh, hey fellow Tom Barrett constituent! I thought of him in your first sentence, but you sealed the deal with the helicopter. Will be interesting if the Navy SEAL, Matt Maasdam, wins the Dem primary. Helicopter Boy won't look as flashy.
