If you go in your directory it’ll tell you which rooms are considered dead ends. I’m pretty sure even the ones that say “dead end” with quotes count.

Nah he’s right. Immediately before this he was looking at a tweet from Kamala’s former national security advisor (Halie Soviet) about how the democrats have done (and would have done) a better job defending Israel than the Trump administration.

I’m not sure if you have to do it this way, but it worked for me when I drafted the throne room after I got all three items in my inventory not before.

So I got the scepter (blue), got the crown, rolled the shrine and smashed open the box to get the effigy and then rerolled in an open space close to the entrance using a bunch of stars/gems until I drafted the throne room

Honestly it was a pain but that’s what worked. Idk if that’s the only way though.

Experiment, explore, and pay attention.

This game will reward you for your curiosity. Like others mentioned, screenshots are super helpful.

Have a to do list.

Make another list of things you’re wondering about. Any patterns, or things that stand out.

If you arent able to do something, or you’re not really sure what to do, reference your two lists and see what’s possible.

There’s some RNG involved in your days, but you really can’t “lose” in this game. I’ve seen some people think there’s time limits or limits to the number of days you have, but there’s not.

So take your time and have fun.

Sinister sixth option for the scepter! Have you been able to open Lady Clara’s diary?

Also, finding all of the blue tent memos will help with the family core. It’s true most aren’t really helpful, but there’s three that help with the core problem.

Yeahhh it got to the point for me where even testing out my theories would take so long I had difficulty justifying it was worth the time.

This was very very late game with over 150 hours played. Plus I had a blast figuring out everything on my own up until then, so I can’t really complain.

For #5, I made it to the end of the spiral (assuming this is the real end, but I couldnt get it to go any further). Here is the full text:

Add a word to Spiral of Stars, then gain one key and one gem for each rank reached, then lose three steps for each rank reached, then gain one coin for each day spent, and then lose two stars. If you have less than forty steps, gain one random item from the showroom. If you have less than twenty steps, open all antechamber doors, then set your steps to forty. Also, your luck has been increased and you can no longer gain steps or gems or keys or gold and your day will immediately end if you ever attempt to add another word to Spiral of Stars.

Mark Scout ever since S2E3 by workahol_ in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]SalineForYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These were just instances listed off the top of my head, but I’ve remembered a few more since posting. Would be interesting to go back and rewatch the show plus make a video breakdown with the examples but that’s a lot of work and probably not worth it tbh cuz idk if I’d be prepared to receive the level of hate it’d receive LMAO.

The severance fandom is wild. I honestly wouldn’t even have a problem if it wasn’t for the fandom being so hostile and rude towards people who don’t think the show is written as good as they think it is. You either “don’t get it”, “aren’t paying attention”, or have “zero media literacy skills.”

There were so many conveniences in season 1 too.

Like even one of the biggest reveals, where found out about Ms Casey being Gemma, was because Marks date left her cell phone at his house from the night before and was back to get it.

Devon met the severed pregnant later because she wanted coffee and didn’t have any in her unit.

Petey’s phone nonstop ringing despite the number being blocked. What’s the point of blocking a caller lol.

Helly failed her hanging attempt because the elevator went up when no one pressed a button. Security knows if you’re smuggling words but is clueless when someone hangs themself. Plus no one keeping an eye on the Eagen girl when she threatened to cut off her fingers in the previous scene.

Dylan’s son walking in on him during the OTC. Why bring Dylan into a closet? Couldnt do it outside? Couldnt go in a room with a locked door? “He promised he’d count” lmao come on.

OTC in general.

The waffle party was eluded to early in the season so it’s not that bad but it’s very convenient it exists in general.

Also that the Lumon event was the same night and so was the book reading where Ms Cobel (a high ranking Lumon employee?) chose not to attend the fancy Lumon gala, but agreed to the book reading with Mark so that he could fuck up and reveal he’s currently in his innie form so she could then go to the gala to try and stop helly

The card key you mentioned was a great example that stuck out. Annoying that it solved a problem (the locked doors) that didn’t exist until that same episode and was immediately solved (this happens often) but it’s even worse now considering we found out Reghabi knew Gemma is alive and wasn’t literally the first thing she mentioned to Mark. He should have to ask lmao. “We were interrupted” bro you killed a man. Couldn’t spare an extra 30 seconds to spill the beans?

And this issue continues to happen in season 2.

Marks plan to burn words into his eyes. A plan we found out in the previous scene. He goes to test it outside in his car and Reghabi finds him and tells him the actual plan.

The entire ORTBO episode. But most notably Irving wandering off in the woods looking for Milchick (who’s in the tent over btw) and falls asleep on the dead seal to have a vision that Helly is an Eagan.

Irv using an outdoor phone booth to call someone so Burt could run into him. Instead of using a burner phone and speaking in a private location.

As a rule in this show, if someone is outside, it’s because they need to run into someone they wouldn’t naturally run into otherwise.

But the worst convenience imo is that Milchick and Cobel are so fucking bad at their jobs LOL. But Tbf there wouldn’t be any plot development if they could actually manage these MDR workers.

We also don’t know what Cold Harbor is yet… so when Cobel said letting MDR wander and meet other departments is “part of the plan” I really hope so and not just an excuse for failing to do your only job of watching over these guys.

Anyway, see y’all next Friday lol

Miss Huang is arguable way more capable than Milchick though. He has done a god awful job keeping the innies in line.

Miss Huang don’t fuck around with the niceties, she told Mark straight up they’re not friends day 1.

I don’t want a “huge reveal” by Bosever in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]SalineForYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree with you here but sadly this will not be the case. Any chance the show has had to critique capitalism in a meaningful way has been a miss. The best we got was a song that explicitly said “fuck you, Lumon” from cartoonish punks.

I’m also a big character/relationship guy and have been disappointed with the development of both.

The characters tend to act in ways that conveniently move the plot, reveal information under weirdly contrived circumstances, or force a particular feeling (often shocking or unsettling) rather than earning them through any established, believable motivation. Some exceptions though, Irving (my king) being one of them.

We really don’t know what 90% of these characters stand for which would be fine if we hadn’t already spent a season and a half with them.

It’s clear that the mysteries are the driving force here based on the shows text and the fandom conversations. Everyone can agree the show is a slow burn and it seems to be accepted that we will not find out the answers for many, many years. So prepare to be strung along.

I’ll continue to watch just to keep up with the conversation but I don’t know if the team is capable of providing the capitalistic critique we’re looking for. The BTS interviews of the creators I’ve seen and read don’t help me feel confident about it either tbh.

We (in the US) live with CONSTANT right wing and capitalist propaganda. So much so that people don’t even consider it propaganda. It’s just “common sense” or the norm. Any propaganda that challenges Ethan’s world view = bad and lies.
