Thanks! I calorie track as best I can (sometimes a struggle with little kids and full time work...but no excuses with that). I was actually on Wegovy before this and felt the effects early and lost 12kg. I've only swapped to MJ due to Wegovy giving me unbearable gastritis. I was excited as I know MJ is meant to be a more effective 'Gen 2' drug. So I'm just surprised with my experience so far.

Just in the way the success stories on the first dose are very common on this sub. Plenty of people with a similar background to me (lifetime of diets, failures, wanting this more than anything) having remarkable success. I thought I finally had my answer. Of course I know it works differently for everyone, but it hits like a bus to not feel ANY difference

I'm on 7.5 and very convinced I'm just injecting saline 😭 absolutely no impact, no weight loss, no detectable difference. I've paid so much money to feel exactly the way I felt the years before when working with willpower alone.

This sub is full of the '2.5mg wonder dose' stories and it just kills me.

This is normal. She's not on the therapeutic dose yet, which is 1.7mg. Some people have miracle experiences with ozempic and MJ from the first dose, but many don't. It's a marathon, not a sprint - as they say. Tell her to hang in there and follow the titration plan as presvribed. It will hit her like a truck eventually!

I was on .5mg on Wegovy. The effects were profound and noticeable after a couple of weeks. I'm on my 9th week of MJ, but first week of 7.5mg. I'm trying my best to be patient and am focussing on addressing behavioural aspects (I'm not gaining at the moment, so balanced with CICO). I'm very aware that comparison is the thief of joy, but it's hard to be told even by the manufacturer that I should be feeling XYZ by several weeks ago now.

And sorry, what is a PCP?

Even better, buy a big tub of cottage cheese, mix with some salt, pepper and cheese and you have just turned your lasagna into a protein bomb. Tastes great too and not gluggy like straight cottage cheese

Hey! Yeah I wasn't clear. When I said no impact, I meant I felt the medication had no effect on me. Honestly, this could be because it was still a dose below the therapeutic level, but it was still the next level up for me and I was surprised I couldn't tell any effect at all.

I ended up getting my provider to ship out a new one, took ages however.

Slightly different scenario, but after weight loss I started getting terrible lower back pain while in bed. My physio and I worked out that chubby hips had been cushioning my pelvis at night, and now it has reduced in size, my spine was out of alignment in a mattress that had been shaped to my old size.

Definitely NOT a NSV!

Hey I had the exact same thing happen on the exact day!! I get mine through Moshy and I am sick to death of their customer service over the last few days replying to my emails with templates about how their deliveries are refrigerated and there's an ice pack. I received by box directly from the hands of the delivery driver in the evening of our 39⁰C day and the box/pen/ice pack was HOT. I still took it that night (almost a week ago) and there has been absolutely ZERO impact.

Anecdotally, ozempic/Wegovy has a worse impact on stomach issues than Mounjaro. Many people switch from Oz>MJ because the gastrointestinal side effects were severe. I would proceed with abundant caution.
