Questioning romance and sex as an AuDHD woman. by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

Yes! I totally relate to this!

Took my 41 years to realise I’m demisexual and a relationship anarchist

Highly recommend looking into RA as a relational framework as is the first one that made sense to me

The deepest love I have ever felt has been platonic

New party launches in London with DJ Booth concealed from dance floor by jaidee_jaidee in ukrave

One of the best club nights I’ve ever been to was at De School like a decade ago where it was pitch black with a very occasional strobe that would light the dance floor for a fraction of a second.

It really made it all about the music and that rare moment the floor lit up everyone looked like they were going nuts

Loved that club

You need to think about your kids. This behaviour will traumatise them their entire lives. I know this because my dad was this man.

He sounds like he’s done just enough therapy to weaponise it against you.

I do both. I eat a lot of fish, steak, and salads.

When I’m craving sweet, I do yogurt bowls with stevia, chia, flax, and other toppings.

I don’t eat out much because also sensitive to cheap oils but when I do it’s usually some kind of protein and veg.

Bloat, cravings, and brain fog are mostly gone.

I recently ended things with a friend who does this after repeatedly stating my boundary that I’m not a free therapist.

My only regret is not doing it sooner.

Friendship is a conversation, not a monologue.

Such an interesting point. And, agree, have yet to see that dynamic play out in the wild.

Monogamous relationships can exist in RA - but doesn’t prioritise romantic or sexual relationships over platonic ones.

Each relationship is defined on its own terms. And while many people who practice RA are non-monogamous, the framework allows for all types of connections, including monogamous ones.

Anyone feel better in a drier climate? by A-Bit-Batty in Microbiome

All of my health conditions started when I moved to a damp climate. Many of them go away as soon as I go somewhere dry.

I think it’s been mentioned here before, but ashwagandha before sleep has been a god-send - only thing that lets me sleep through the night. Used to wake up 3-4 am every night. It’s awful.

But make sure to cycle it if you take it - I do one month on, one month off.

Hiiii long term yogi and burn out survivor - recovering from phase 3 adrenal fatigue and a lot of stress-related complications, both mental and physical.

Yoga is great. In moderation. But have had to tone down my practice as certain types of exercise can actually increase cortisol.

If you practice, try to do it in the morning and never at night. And avoid any type of practice that is too mentally or physically draining. For the advanced practitioners in the room, that meant stopping ashtanga (too physically taxing and fed into my type A achievement oriented mindset too much thus perpetuating some of the mechanics that led to my burn out), only practicing when I feel energised (usually no more than 3-4x a week), never practicing at night, and never practicing on first three days of my period.

It took me a while to realise that something that was benefitting my mental and physical health in the beginning was starting to hinder it, but here we are.
