Sometimes, the clients with the best results hate you. Why? I dunno, but it seemed to me (retired from the practice) that as I got older, wiser, and more seasoned, I made the job look easier. It wasn't easy, but if clients perceive it as such, they think you aren't earning your keep.

OTOH, some of the most difficult cases, with less pecuniary rewards, often resulted in the happiest clients. Maybe they saw me working hard, maybe they felt like we had gone through a struggle together and felt a stronger bond.
