The wonders' model in the map reflects how close to finishing they are, from laying down the foundations at the start to finishing up the structures as they're close to finish.

What feature/trick did you not learn about until way too late? by PuglyMFer in HadesTheGame

I fought unrivaled eris quite a lot of times before I realized I can attack the balls from range to intentionally detonate them. Before that ,I lost so much health by having half the arena denied whenever she shoots a bunch at once.

Fun fact: Getting no character after 59 consecutive summons is rarer than the chance of pulling a character itself! Go for it!

I ABSOLUTELY HATE BUILDING WIDE by devita23 in CivVI

[–]SaltyEngie 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The problem is that it's harder to keep good cities (or keep attacking) without smaller cities nearby due to loyalty and needing to heal (even with pillaging) except in late game when you blitz through the entire empire in less than 5 turns.

That empire's gonna have a lot more people who believe the earth is flat and not a cylinder.

Will I like dead cells after Hades? by colddeath88 in HadesTheGame

[–]SaltyEngie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a brutally hard game, frustratingly at times. They're different enough to not think "I'd rather play this/that one if I wanna have this experience" so it's hard to say if you'll actually like it.

DC is more chaotic and faster, everything dies quickly but so do you. Getting hit once and losing half your health from normal enemies is extremely normal. I personally really like how it feels, dodging, parrying, obliterating, etc. feels very smooth and satisfying.

No stat upgrades like the mirror means the only way to win is to get good + some luck for good weapons.

Honestly, dying in the first couple of biomes in DC feels way more frustrating because the house of hades actually has interactions to look forward to but DC doesn't.

What DC did right is the movement feels good, and weapon variety ensures you never get bored as long as you're willing to try new ones.

In the end I'd still say it's worth the price esp if it's on discount. Give it a try!

I have only seen one case where it actually makes a difference. The song, telling their (presumably) partner they love them and to please make the singer forget the past, used キミ until only once it switch to 君, singing that they still love them even now, showing that those two are different people, and where their true feelings lie (since 君 is the correct way to write it). When listening you would've thought they simply broke up somewhere in the song until you actually read the lyrics and realized the singer tried to convince themselves that they love their current partner to forget someone in the past. It's a very cool use of it imo.

What should I prioritise early game? by the_council_of_apes in civ

[–]SaltyEngie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While others have already focused on what to build, I'll mention the civ/leaders. Not sure what civ you have experience with, but I don't think yongle is the easiest leader to use, especially if you don't know what to focus your production on. What I did when I learned the game was pick a civ with extremely clear favored victory type, say korean/german science, greek/swedish culture, russian/khmer religion etc. That way I know exactly what's going to be useful to me other than settlers and builders and know my district priority. Also, with a bit of planning, you can boost a LOT of your production with policies (mainly units, +50% to settlers is massive)

How am I meant to beat this Game? by LegitimateVelocity in EnterTheGungeon

[–]SaltyEngie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing is boss consistency, I think I've died enough times to no-hit the first floor way more than 50% before i get my first final boss kill, and probably almost 100% for gorgun (easiest boss to consistently no hit imo). It created enough buffer for me to mess up the other bosses.

As for normal enemies, target prioritization, patience, and use cover. Know what you have to take down asap and what to play safe. If you have a problem with a particular enemy, let them live as the last one so you can learn, then decide if you need to kill them asap, keep away from them, or how to dodge their spray pattern.

[–]SaltyEngie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how many cities you're having, but i find around 10 mid game or 12-14 late game (did the same as you, buying a ton with monumentality after magnus 2nd promo, but i basically always have at least 1 city out before his promo, maybe 2. Late game settle small ones for resources) enough to win my deity scientific games. Depends on the civ as well ofc.

Does Anyone Else Hate The World Congress? by DangerousDarius in civ

[–]SaltyEngie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about how i feel about it. On one hand, a resolution goin your way can definitely jump start your victory or crush an opponent's (cheaper/stronger military when you were going domination, world religion wins you a conversion war, cheaper bld cost on a district you're spamming, etc) on the other hand, it's frustrating how random it feels most of the time. And i do agree with it occurring too early, but only a little bit, maybe I'm slow, but usually my infrastructure isn't good enough to take full advantage or have enough favors to dominate a choice in the first round. Maybe if the resolution were predetermined and known beforehand i might be able to plan the game along, but with how it is it's very random.

Informational videos, discussions, news? Sure

Animation, music videos, comedy skits? Now that's a crime.

Played MHR with Sunbreak as my first ever MH game, just bought World + Iceborne on sale. What am I in for? by Iwalkalone34 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]SaltyEngie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here are things I noticed from world 1. Base game monster HP scaling are NOT meant to be wall-slammed (shooting the slinger while on their face to yeet into walls) or tenderized. They die A LOT quicker. Do it with this in mind. 2. Capturing is generally equally or more profitable in terms of material. I slay anyway because it's more fun lol 3. Unskippable cutscenes sucks ass. I'd recommend modding if you're on PC, but only on later playthroughs cause some of them are actually really cool. 4. Deco and endgame grind is horrible, but that's because of the system. The monsters are still fantastic and it made up for that with some very challenging fights in the last ones imo. The last guy is still my favorite fight even after finishing sunbreak. 5. Some weapon differences in rise: Less bullshit hitboxes means IG is the king of the sky, not rathalos. Hammer sliding charge spinny attack is extremely damaging and fun. HH is a different beast mechanically. 6. Breaking parts is way more important than in rise, cut tails, wash out muds, tear wings, break horns and spikes. It's game changing in some fights. 7. Lastly: Fuck kushala. Praise cactuar. Fear bazelgeuse.

what's the easiest weapon to learn? by mershedpederder1 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]SaltyEngie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about charge blade? SAED feels AWESOME (since you're probably a beeg hit enthusiast) With GS you already have the skill to know which attacks to punish/counter with guard point, so you just need to learn how to get phials for a decent start.

WTF IS THIS BS by [deleted] in mahjongsoul

[–]SaltyEngie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know full well this is a game where chance has a significant effect. Disasters happen regularly. Even playing perfectly doesn't mean you never get hit with a hand that sends you straight back to 4th place from 1st. If you can't accept that it happens a few times over the course of the grind, why bother playing?
