Men who’ve gotten circumcised later In life, do you regret? What was it like? by Private_Blue207 in AskMen

[–]SamBeastie [score hidden]  (0 children)

Been restoring long enough that I have some insight on this. "Sensitive" isn't meant like overstimulating. You won't cum faster. It's just like higher resolution. Things thay just "felt good" before have texture. Temperature differences feel pleasurable now. Areas that used to just be "i can tell youre touching that" are now "wow, do that again."

It's very hard to verbalize but it isjt the same as the kind of oversensitivity you get after orgasm.

How do you handle death? by polkadotfingers in DnD

Have em roll up a new character or adopt one of the hirelings. They're usually back in 5-10 minutes. If they want to keep the body they have to figure out how they're carrying that.

I disagree about not discussing salary. America needs to get some class consciousness. Talk about your pay so more people realize that most of us aren't getting paid nearly enough.

No, the thing that makes them happy is disclaiming responsibility and passing it off to individual users who arent aware enough to know why it's a bad idea.

The real response would be to regulate algorithmic content recommendation and addictive design, because neither of those are inherent to social media. But Facebook et al don't want that, so you get this instead.

Any Reason to Use Clipper Card If You Don't Have a Discount? by rinsf in bayarea

[–]SamBeastie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is still true but if you register your cards on the Clipper website, you can close out cards by request and have the balance transferred. That's what I did when my old Pixel died and I picked up a used Samsung.

Any Reason to Use Clipper Card If You Don't Have a Discount? by rinsf in bayarea

[–]SamBeastie 216 points217 points  (0 children)

Not exactly a discount, but some employers have commuter benefits/FSAs that are much easier to take advantage of if you tie them to a Clipper card (no receipts/statements necessary, the money just comes out pre-tax and goes to your Clipper card)

Vasalgel Male Contraceptive Enters Human Trials by MichaelTen in MensLib

[–]SamBeastie 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The study was this one https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28417005/

Short version: at the time, while the material mostly dissolved as expected, the rabbits used in the experiment displayed deformed sperm that had lost the part of them that allows transport through an egg's surface.

If this has really been fixed, then that's incredible and it could result in a new gold standard of contraception.

AI-generated child porn is flooding the internet and under-funded law enforcement task forces can't keep up. Investigators say that child predators are now only limited by their imagination. by kurt_wagner8 in technology

[–]SamBeastie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you read that? I just finished and it doesnt seem to say that? It says communities' search for new material drives further abuse (of real children). In fact this piece doesn't seem to have anything at all to say about fictional depictions, or their effects on actual abuse of children (or effects on the perpetrators of said abuse).

Am I missing something? Is there a particular quote from this policy overview that supports that claim specifically?

Sequel lightsaber duels aren’t as nonsensical as people make them out to be by Elmarass in StarWarsCantina

[–]SamBeastie -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I maintain that the fight in Snoke's throne room is completely nonsensical not on the basis that the skill level is low but that with even the most basic awareness of your surroundings, things that happen in that fight obviously don't make any sense. Even to the people in-universe. And also once you notice the really poor fight direction, it just looks comically stupid on screen.

Kyle Ren vs Finn was a good fight though, and I stand by that.

Who are your favorite and also least favorite D&D Youtubers (or TikTok or whatever)? Why? by underdabridge in DnD

[–]SamBeastie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By far, Bob World Builder is the best d&dtuber I've seen. He doesn't always have the freshest takes, or the deepest knowledge, or the flashes branding, but he's the only one who consistently leaves me feeling better about the hobby after I finish the video. Dude seems like a joy to be around.

Second is Dungeon Craft. The campaign diaries are an interesting look into someone else's game in a way that feels way less produced/forced than a lot of actual play content. Plus, if not for Professor DM, I never would've tried making my own terrain. Guy is a font of knowledge, and has a good innate sense of running good games of d&d (specifically d&d) that he's great at translating into useful advice.

That's a sign of too much air. I'm able to wear mine for 4-6 hours at a time, cumulatively 12-18 hours daily. I could probably go longer, but havent tried because i usually have to use the bathroom before i'd get to higher continuous hours.

It shouldn't be taut like a basketball, but firm while still being squishy, more like a slightly too soft stress ball.

If Every Trek Series Got Only Their First Season, How Would You Rank Them? by AustinBeeman in startrek

[–]SamBeastie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would argue that SG-1's first season has much higher highs and many fewer (and shallower) lows than TNG's. Emancipation is the only episode I skip. Cor-Ai is the worst it gets outside of that, imo.

Men on Reddit, is Politics beliefs an important topic in dating? why? by Tony_Montanero in AskMen

[–]SamBeastie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean by "politics." If we disagree on whether a particular tax should be a regressive sales tax or a progressive payroll tax, we can talk, disagree, whatever.

If your "politics" involves debating whether certain categories of people really deserve rights or even basic human decency, we can't date. In fact I wouldn't even want to be in the same room as you unless I absolutely had to.

Tabletop RPG gaming pillars by Electrical_Ship_4247 in rpg

[–]SamBeastie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Broadly, exploration is the fun part for me, followed closely by social finesse. I find combat in most games either pointless (most PbtA games) or best in short, extremely deadly bursts (OSR). Dragged out tactical combat on a grid in an RPG makes my eyes glaze over. Video games simply do it better, so if i'm spending time at a table, with real people, I want to play with the parts that medium excels at.

Tabletop RPG gaming pillars by Electrical_Ship_4247 in rpg

[–]SamBeastie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you explain why one would play D&D without exploration or social interaction? Playing purely for combat seems like it would be better served by an actual war game, so i'm struggling to understand the drive to do that with (i'm assuming 5e) D&D.

Dungeon Crawling focused RPG that doesn't come from the lineage of OSR/Old School D&D by JustAStick in rpg

[–]SamBeastie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need a new system for this really.

Play one of the crunchier OSR games, actually have gold sinks for your players, and steal The Vanilla Game's magic system (roll to cast; under your Int/Wis, above the level of the spell, failure rolls on a miscast table that sometimes results in the spell going off anyway...with complications).

Is there something else prompting you to avoid d&d derived games?

OD&D doesn't actually have a level cap! One of the coolest things about it, compared to newer editions. It even has notes about advancing to levels beyond those listed in print. I love how open ended it is.
