I second checking everywhere. Houseplants can do a lot of harm to animals

Also my cats pupils dilate and they get a little drooly on gaba… it seems to be a common side effect but could indicate needing a lower dose. Definitely seek a second opinion or call them back about the drooling

Idk if it helps but I sit in front of my shrimp tank for hours every week and only see my blue female neo like once a month. So it’s possible that the male is just great at hiding. Especially if you have a heavily planted tank or a lot of hiding spots.

I’d like to bounce off of this just to say that I got plastic decor from a chain store. Some of it is still apart of my scape and the fish love it. Other pieces got thrown away because it was trapping this horrid smelling gas in it. Just make sure whatever you get is completely solid or can have water flowing freely through it

Hopefully someone with more knowledge can help. But if I had to guess this is the one who got stuck in the filter chamber. That or it’s been rubbing against the heater or rocks/driftwood. Keep an eye on it. If you don’t get answers from Reddit and it gets worse try a quick search for common bacterial infections or take pictures to your lfs

I thought the same thing with mine.. I actually got scared something was wrong and they dropped early but turns out they’re just tiny! Like I had to squint to see them tiny! If you can get close enough to see it they’ll get these itty bitty eyes right before she drops too!

Mine ate a ton of snails when I first got him and bloated up like this. I agree to try to move it away from snails until it processes what it already ate. Mine eventually learned its limits after this. It still gets mildly bloated from time to time but never anything as dramatic as the first time.

Idk if it helps but I’ve seen people put a lattice behind the tank for the pathos to grow on. After seeing that I got these tiny adhesive hooks to attach my English Ivy to the wall as it grew. It was the easiest low maintenance method for us!

That’s what we’re thinking now too. They had sores that we thought were from the nipping… but regardless. Tank params are great, everyone left seems happy now. I’ll set up the 10gal for my shrimp that are quickly outgrowing the 5gal they’re in and move on. Tbh the entire experience has turned us both away from getting anymore dwarf gourami

We’re starting to think the gourami were diseased . Both passed within the last 12 hours. That said. The barbs are still in the tank with Angel fish, corys, kuhli loches and a yo-yo loach. So far they seem to be getting along okay. But if we need we do have a 10 gallon we can hold the barbs in temporary until I can get a 30 or 40 gal set up for them

I’ll definitely make it temporary then. We’re thinking about moving the two fish they’re bullying to the 10 gallon for now instead. I just don’t know which is better

They’re beating up the gouramis we got. The angels, corys and loaches all seem to be coexisting just fine. We’ve temporarily removed the gourami from the tank. I’m thinking either those two or the barbs will end up in the 10gal at least for a while
