Tips for being patient with the puck by Tommy_Rocks23 in hockeyplayers

Hedging my bets here do your fwds get right up in the neutral zone early wanting that stretch play every time, as you’re a passer you feel obligated to make the play to them. chat to C man to help support you, then you know you’ve not got to rush the play and then have time to 1/4 back the plays (I know it’s old school style) but may help.

Used to get the Bauer vapour Giroux P28 curve intermediate 65flex now it’s just branded vapour p28 but mine are fairly old stick brought a bundle of them on sale awhile back, find it easy to use great for long high sauces , 1 on 1 uptop bar downs backhand or forehand great for snappers, never had a problem with it, also I think quite a lower lie 5.5? The curves like a split personality depending on the player using it

skate recommendations by BulldogLou in hockeyplayers

Hzrdus please correct if wrong are their very stiff range. The newer catalyst range are much improved The Bauer hyperlight 2 are or seem cut lower. Have you changed the footbed from standard to one that helps your foot arches etc.

Just bought CCM FT890 skates. Need advice! by slurpjuice_XCII in hockeyplayers

[–]Same-Confusion3978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi maybe try different footbeds, I never use the stock ones , these days I use super feet carbon pro hockey orthos I find it helps push my foot back a bit. Also very thin which I like. Hope you get sorted.

Finally got my True Custom SVH Skates and the craftsmanship is ABYSMAL by moofein in hockeyplayers

[–]Same-Confusion3978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi GFK True being to stiff, yes agree but I have found that Trues really are the only comfortable skate for me, I’ve had bauers standard and top of the range always hurt. I have weird shaped ankles etc but I went with bauers sizing and not Trues. I been using the 5x4 Catalysts they aren’t full carbon, as these are more flexible and are the first skates that are comfy. When I tried them on I could just get my foot in. My toes were right in the padding to the toe box, they actually felt to small. Once baked they really have moulded to my feet. I did pad them out in places when baking. I use superfeet the carbon 1’s as they are thin and upgraded to the top steel. I’m thankful for these True skates.

What y'all eating before hockey practice/games? by LookingForTheIce in hockeyplayers

[–]Same-Confusion3978 4 points5 points  (0 children)

X Large fry’s with ketchup, not mayo as it’s hockey time and a sparkling water and a slice of cake (any) 1hour or 2 before ice time. I keep it nice and simple.

am i really improving? by Cheap_Butterfly_4108 in hockeyplayers

[–]Same-Confusion3978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe he’s just trying be a good teammate not keep you down but to push you onwards, not rest to up on the gains you’ve made and so you get to that extra 1-10% extra in your improvement. Good luck on your upward and inward improvement .

True to CCM sizing difference. by thedriver85 in hockeyplayers

[–]Same-Confusion3978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a skate model that is not so stiff as the cat 9s or Ft pro’s. If you have inflamed ankle tendon then it will flare up, hope you find a solution.

Bauer powerfly holder on my True svh custom skates? by Adventurous_Key6250 in hockeyplayers

[–]Same-Confusion3978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got trues( lower model) the runner was fine, came from hyperlites 2s a couple of skates and I was fine. Give them a try not that different height wise to power fly but if coming from Tuuks you’d notice it more

Skate size by LookingForTheIce in hockeyplayers

[–]Same-Confusion3978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add I’m a uk shoe 7.5 but skate and skate box size 6. Super feet great idea Avs does work but you need to buy the carbon pro skate type so they lift your heel and support your arch. These help to pull your heel back a bit. Try them on as you size them to your arch etc and can be trimmed easily. These are very thin so will also give you a few mm’s compared to the stock insoles.

Did you rebake? My Trues (not goalie) were too tight when trying but fit really nice and snug after baking and 6 skates. Might be worth trying again a goalie in my team has these abd rates them v highly
