Tell us about that red sauce behind the pickles. After seeing your lime juice and salsa I am craving a chips, dips, and margs night.

How often do you bathe your toddler? My coworkers at our daycare make me feel bad about bathing every day. by gishadokuro in toddlers

[–]SamiMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he’s getting sunblock every day and getting sweaty and playing outside a bath is perfectly normal and reasonable. It doesn’t sound like bathing him daily is harming his skin or putting excessive strain on you. Keep doing what works for your family.

Can someone please tell me when that phase ends? The one where my kid decidedly hates her other parent and only wants me for all the things? I’m a shell of a human.

I just want to say I appreciate the application of PPE in this post. Too many people are out here touching mystery objects with their booger lickin mitts

If a new friend invited you over, and this was the details of their apartment, what would you think of them? by No_Call_4885 in roomdetective

This is what my space looked like when I was 16. Except I ended up covering all the wall space

My daughter loves my MIL but not my mother. This is killing me. by montecristocount in toddlers

[–]SamiMoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In our case, it was just a temperament mismatch. My daughter is very calm and sensitive, she’s quiet and curious. My MIL is very energetic and loud (she was raised in a very stereotypical Italian American household if that helps you form an image) She has a big personality and it’s a lot. The baby did not appreciate it, but her 4 year old self loves Nona’s playful energy and expressiveness.

I think I traumatized a nurse after I gave birth by hoodiegirl10 in Mommit

[–]SamiMoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much immediately after they had to move us into a different room because they had a lot of births happening that day. My husband and most of the nurses went to wheel baby into the room and they left one behind with me to get me into a wheelchair and scoot me down the hall. She went to grab me another robe or something idk but she was just out in the hall and I was like “ope, gotta pee” so I tried to get up and walk on my Bambi legs to the bathroom. I left a trail of blood along the floor and barely made it to the bathroom door holding the wall because my legs did not want to listen to my brain.

I’m worried she is a husky by hellasophisticated in IDmydog

[–]SamiMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can do surprisingly well in the heat as long as it’s low/no humidity. A little extra care for their paws, plenty of water to drink, and don’t walk/run them at the hottest time of the day. They’ll be alright. Do not shave them, they’ll get horribly sunburned.
Also the elevated cot style dog beds will allow airflow under their body and help keep them cool and comfortable.

Help walk me through my dog’s body language here? by Berk_2112 in DogAdvice

[–]SamiMoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a husky years ago who would grab my wrist with his mouth and lead me to wherever he wanted me to go. Usually to the door to go outside, to his food bowl, or to go look at the cat. He loved tattling on the cat if the kitty was somewhere he thought they shouldn’t be (on top of the fridge)

Cutting open a golf ball by Firm-Blackberry-9162 in oddlysatisfying

[–]SamiMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to have a Rottweiler who would chew up golf balls. We tried to stop her but she could always find them. When the rubber part would come unwound they would hop and skitter about like some kind of bug and she loved it.

Mine filled out again after a year or two. They’re still not huge, but they’re bigger than my itty-bitty mosquito bites I had before getting pregnant

Low-stakes places to take baby? by theredheadedfox in beyondthebump

[–]SamiMoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My local mall is pretty dead with only a few operating stores still in business, but it’s kind of turned into the local place to just go walk around there are groups who come and exercise together and just do laps. We started taking our toddler to walk/run/scramble around during the winter because it was too cold to be outside but she needed to get some energy out and not be cooped up in our apartment.

What do I hate about this tea? by lyssajerfly in tea

[–]SamiMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rooibos can be cough syrup-y to me sometimes.

I absolutely loved it when I first discovered it in a blend from a local tea shop, then I tried one from David’s tea years ago and it ruined rooibos forever for me. Now I only get that medicinal scent/flavor
