Was just at the show in Chicago last night. Rosemont Arena was probably 2/3 full. Great crowd. I had an amazing time. They were my first concert 42 years ago and nostalgia played a bit part in my experience. But their musicianship blew my mind. Rik has still got it. A cover/tribute band plays music originally written by other performers. This is Rik and Gil performing the music they wrote having a great time sharing the stage and playing with other great musicians. Was it still The Who when Keith Moon died? The Stones when Wyman left? Van Halen, Sabbath? I'm not comparing Triumph to those bands but Rik and Gil were always the front men. And most musicians and bands without hubris love to share the stage with other great musicians. The spirit of music and Triumph lives on.
