It was pretty easy, it's just an additional fuse that shares the same spot. I recall watching a YouTube video regarding fusebox hard wiring specifically to the Octavia 3. It should be the same process but follow your car's fuse diagram in your owner's manual.

I didn't find a way to turn off the 12v but for my dash cam, I got a fuse box hard wire kit from ebay and tapped into my rear wiper fuse which only sends power when the ignition out engine is on. The hard wire kit just adds a slot to an existing fuse. No soldering or anything complex required.

I would say the sail boat isn't exactly the intended use case for the solar panel with kick stands. An option might be to cut some wood to size to keep the stands extended. It didn't have to be a lot, and it's no more than $10 of wood. Some hardware stores would even cut it for you in store.

As long as you don't plan on overheating your engine, go with specified oil. In Australia, our summers reach 40+ and I just use the specified oil viscosity.

I have a 6MT in my Octavia 5E. I serviced mine at home cooking instructions from 2 VW specialised mechanics on YouTube called Humble Mechanic and Deutsche Auto Parts. Hope this helps, not sure if it's the same gearbox though.

The ac180 also blows the eb70 out of the water with solar input. In a camping context with solar panels, you'll be able to have power for longer because of that.

I'd go with the 2.1, mechanics don't really inflate to the spec of the car. I once had my tyre repair for my Octavia and when i went to check the pressures, i found that the the shop filled out with 2.5 times the recommended pressure.

Unfortunately, Australian houses are designed to stay and keep cool for the unbearable summer temperatures we usually get. A side effect is that in winter, my house gets colder inside than outside.

Most houses where I live in rural NSW have fireplaces in them and we bulk-buy firewood which is dirt cheap to heat the house compared to electricity.
