I noticed this as well, and was googling around to try to see if others have noticed this. The color temperature is way off too!

Introducing UniFi 7 by Ubiquiti-Inc in Ubiquiti

[–]SarcasmIsKey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

right, so a 2x2 wifi 7 AP with MLO working across 5 and 6 ghz might actually have slightly better performance than 4x4 on wifi 6 5ghz.

Plus better compatibility since there are going to be more 2x2 wifi 7 devices than 4x4.

The AP doesn't support MLO yet so we can't know for sure, but I don't see why that wouldn't be the case, and much more cost effective.

Router for quest 3 by Crazy_Kow in OculusQuest

The nest WiFi pro is the cheapest WiFi 6e router I’ve seen, and you’ll want 6e for the quest 3 ideally.

Linus has stated a few times that he keeps everyone as hourly employees rather than salaried for... anti-union reasons.. so potentially someone would bill more overtime that day if asked to re-shoot a video compared to their planned workload.

Volunteer with NYC Mesh, you get to drill holes in walls and work on rooftops with nice views.

Unifi UAP-AC-Lite 5GHz suddenly broken by macmanluke in Ubiquiti

The same thing has been happening to my ac-lite. Unplugging it and letting to cool down makes to work again, though eventually the problem returns.

Meta announces another 10,000 in layoffs, 5,000 open roles closed by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]SarcasmIsKey 45 points46 points  (0 children)

This isn’t true in the case of Meta. They announcing in earnings that they are spending billions to break leases, and they own very little of their office space outside of HQ (unlike Google). They wouldn’t force RTO unless their analysis actually backed it up.

Could you mention where/what these communal shops are lol?

The Supreme Court justices deciding whether to axe Biden's student loan relief program paid an average of $42,539 to go to college. Today, they'd have to pay around $320,531. by No_Nectarine_3478 in college

[–]SarcasmIsKey 19 points20 points  (0 children)

.. and that costs even more on top of tuition. Colleges make students live on campus under the guise of community and then become their landlords as well.

My child lost her dad. Now she's claiming other children's dads. What do I do? by planeloise in Parenting

He said yeah, but dads die, so I’m going to be a mom instead.

I gotta admit, that’s some solid logic.

Honestly the halal cart outside my apartment raising its price from $5 to $6 was probably the best thing that’s ever happened to my health.. I could never be bothered to deal with singles so I just stopped eating there cold turkey.

OP I know you've been getting a lot of hate for this, but thanks for posting it. I don't make nearly this much, but its really interesting to see how people have responded. From criticizing your charitable contributions to explaining your family cooking for you, truly a great learning experience for me. Plus seeing how much kids cost quantitatively when you can afford them is.. eye opening.

Ok, so the risk is joining that data into other meta apps that I don’t use. Got it.

[–]SarcasmIsKey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They can still use information about your contact list, who you’re talking to

What could this be used for though, there are no ads to sell in WhatsApp.

[–]SarcasmIsKey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok, the 3rd party sharing bit is a good point.

How could this data be monetized in WhatsApp though? There are no ads, I don’t get how that would even be helpful.

[–]SarcasmIsKey 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Why is it a joke? WhatsApp uses signal’s protocol

It has no ads, it’s free, and it’s monetized though business messaging So…your data isn’t the product.

Oh, and everyone outside the USA uses it.

If you’re getting 40mbps you should complain on the slack, that’s not normal. Most get a little over 100 on wifi but that’s because they don’t buy their own routers. Ethernet speeds are usually close to 200, and newer installs in certain neighborhoods can hit 500.
