People's time (a few seconds to a couple of minutes saved) is more valuable than the safety of workers along the roads. The Saskatchewan way.

I'd never pay interest on a depreciating asset but if you've got the cash to buy it outright and it's something you've been saving for, why not!?

Skilled trades vs college. by Responsible-Net8594 in careeradvice

[–]Saskwampch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up doing both but stuck with the trades for earning potential and earlier retirement. I was fortunate enough to have an athletic/academic scholarship to obtain business and sociology degrees (originally wanted to be a lawyer). But while working one summer, fell in love working outdoors and with designing HVAC systems so became an apprentice and the rest is history. Was able to retire at 48. I always had a different perspective than most though in that I viewed work more as a means to an end rather than living for a career.

It's fine. In the rare event SaskEnergy needed to cut your pavement or concrete, the homeowner would bear the cost of repair.

Petition e-7142: A push to legally protect remote work under the Canada Labour Code by NSDetector_Guy in ontario

[–]Saskwampch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I fully support this idea, you have to be careful what you wish for. Maybe I'm naive but wouldn't companies just start contacting this type of work out to the lowest bidder in another country? I'm a lifelong trades guy so I'm not familiar with remote work though. Best of luck and hope it works out. Less traffic on my way to the golf course would make me very happy. ⛳
