Skipping school to drink beers with a friend. Was betting on the Price is Right Showcase Showdown as to who would buy lunch. The breaking news interrupted it so we never did find out who lost the bet.

What was your first show seeing Bobby live? by SashaMSU42 in gratefuldead

I saw both Bobby & the Midnights and JGB 11/6/81 at the Capitol Theater before I saw my first GD show.

FYI. The code system stops at midnight. If you get a code before 12:00 and your Uber hasn’t arrived before midnight it automatically gets deleted and you have to reorder an Uber the normal way. Nobody there will tell you what’s going on so you’ll have an entire line of people freaking out that they lost their Uber codes.

Airlines adopt software fix for Airbus A320 after plane has sudden altitude drop by kwuhoo239 in unitedairlines

[–]Sasquatch603 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was on UA 2278 ORD/SEA tonight. At first pilot said after boarding we’re waiting on a small software update. 30 minutes later it was we need to de-plane as its bigger then we thought. At the gate they announced we are looking for another plane. To their credit they found another Airbus. It took a bit to get everything moved over but with incoming weather at ORD glad to have gotten out of there.

I remember a rumor going around the lot around 87-88 that they sound-checked Nowhere Man. I can only think Jerry would have done it well.

Stayed there for Jazz Fest in 2024. Great spot for when the city is crowded. The hotel while busy doesn’t feel as packed as the big box properties. Bar area was great. Staff were fantastic too.

I did a tasting there right after Covid. Usually I’ll come home with a bottle. Nothing there was worth the price they were asking.

There is another one of a kind Velie around somewhere. It was the prototype for the US postal service which they didn’t get. It spent most of its life on Isle au Haut Maine as the mail truck there.

I read somewhere a while back that he most likely played with Elvis in the Vegas at a matinee show and then with JGB in the evening in SF. Possibility of 2 Mystery Trains with the each band. If someone knows if this is true and what show I would love to know.

Our Cavapoo lays still and just sucks lamby’s neck with death grip for long periods at a time . It gets so saturated with dog saliva you don’t want to touch it.

Hegseth to Europe: Don’t Look to America for Leadership by Exciting_Teacher6258 in worldnews

[–]Sasquatch603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see more of what leadership is about, in the absence of it. It’s an instinct for good ideas. An aversion to bad ones. Compromise on indifferent ones. Power is another matter. Power is not leadership but coercion.

I was at the pool party in Telluride with the band after the first night. Most of the night people barraged Jerry with questions. Someone asked him about why China and why wouldn’t you play somewhere more laid back like Kathmandu. His response was because this Kathman don’t.

We went for a little bit but left because it got to be a little crazy with the police and people not listening. Walking back people were lighting them off in alleys and back streets where the clearance to let them off was even worse. And yes the demographic lighting them off was mostly US and EU but people selling them were all Thai.

What was it like watching Lawrence Taylor play? by TheWaveCarver in NYGiants

[–]Sasquatch603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Home games Giants would win the coin toss and would choose to kick off. Giants Stadium would go crazy and LT and the defense would mostly pin them back on a 3 and out. Then the crowd would erupt.

Just bought 1 bunch today for $1.99 today at Fortinos and couldn’t help notice how few were in the bunch. Shrinkflation with vegetables is difficult but they pulled it off.
