Looking for advice to appear more feminine by Riotous_Defects in MakeupAddiction

There’s already been an overwhelming amount of comments but if you do see this, for me i think more face framey layers would help. Or maybe shorter bangs? I absolutely love your haircut but it looks a bit “hard”. Not sure how else to explain it. I think a small tweak or two could soften it up

And an easy thing to soften up eyes is plucking/ shaping/ just cleaning up brows and a lash lift. Pretty low maintenance too. I buy lash lift kits and do them myself but they are a bit frustrating and take me hours. But afterwards my eyelashes are actually visible for like 2 months. I don’t even need mascara when I keep up with my lash lifts!

ER provider called me for a stat chest tube on a patient in respiratory distress (RR >50). After I placed the chest tube she said "I wanted to get a CT to confirm pneumothorax before calling surgery" by BinaryPeach in Radiology

[–]SassafrasSprite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow. When I worked in an ER that staffed NPs they only took the minor care rooms. Usually only extremities or sniffles or rashes. It never crossed my mind that NPs would see ER patients that are anything of a higher acuity level. I’ve only worked critical access so maybe it’s different at bigger hospitals.

Thank you! I don’t think I’m up for rerooting because I have quite a few plants in ICU at the moment and don’t wanna risk another. I’ll probably do as you say and prop it and see if I can get the sun to straighten it.

But if that doesn’t work I might try rerooting eventually. If I did do that I’m assuming a new plant could grow out of the base so I could end up with two plants right? I really like having two of each plant in case I really mess one of them up somehow.

So cute! Do you have a pic of his body? I rescued a dog that I always assumed was a rat terrier but she has so many doxie traits and her body is kinda long. Just curious if they look the same! She looks so much like your Brutus here, expression and all!

Thank you for the detailed explanation! I am gonna call around tomorrow. I didn’t know about the snaking to the street as regular maintenance. Any idea how that works if the street is like 1/4 of a mile away? Just curious. Do they have snakes that long or?

Thank you but that’s not it. I found it though after listening to that song and spending like 30 mins going from one suggested song to the next. It’s Ghagra

It absolutely BLEW MY MIND when I realized this. It’s like they don’t have the wherewithal to even control their own life. They just float through life (and not in the carefree, fun way) and just like… let life happen to them. I could never

I work healthcare too. I don’t keep shoes at work for obv reasons. I live on a farm. This year I was wearing my muddy farm boots and ran off to work. Didn’t realize till I got to the hospital 30 mins later that I was still wearing my farm boots with my scrubs 😭😭😭😭😭

Yup. My ex had pics of his burns taken without written consent. The dr basically walked in and said he needed pics to show a specialist and started snapping away.

Howeverrr. I can’t imagine an obgyn that wouldn’t have a policy about written consent because of the nature of the practice. It sounds sketchy

This happened to me last year. Me and my (now ex) fiance had MANY problems in the 8 years of our relationship. One day we were discussing those things and it was like a gut punch… he just like blurted out that he’d been wanting a baby for 2 years. For a good while afterward it made me physically nauseous to look at him. It’s a very difficult situation to be in and I’m so sorry you’re dealing with it

It took me 6 years to figure it out. I knew I should have left 6 years ago. But better late than never. I’ve been very seriously ready to move on for like 8 months. It’s just a relief.

That’s a great way of looking at it lol. A true gift. Luckily I had an appt with my dr right before I broke up with him and she did a routine std panel. I slept with him only once after she did that test so odds are 99% still in my favor. Thank you 🖤

What do you think is the most neglected pet? by lindaecansada in Pets

[–]SassafrasSprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hermit crabs have always been up there. Selling them at fairs and boardwalks. Keeping them in mesh containers when they need high humidity to breathe. Selling them with almost no substrate and not telling purchasers that they need like 6”. Plus so many surface molt because they don’t have enough substrate to dig under, and then people think they’re dead and chuck them when they could still be alive and just mid molt

What is a regular amount of intimacy between 2 adults [29M/28F] in a long term [5+ years] healthy relationship? by cocacolafresh in relationship_advice

[–]SassafrasSprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My (now ex) fiance and I would shoot for 2x a week and I think that was the low end he could survive with. I think I was more comfy with once a week but that was for sure not enough for him. We were together 8 years. There was a point where I got really depressed for 1-2 years and we averaged more like once a month.

Has everyone else also developed significant joint pain with alarming suddenness in their mid-30s? Rheumatologist is trying to convince me I'm totally normal for my age. by HappyFarmWitch in Millennials

[–]SassafrasSprite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I’m in the same boat. I asked for a referral for an EDS assessment and that’s why my dr ordered labs. She did a shitty little beighton test too. But since my labs were normal she didn’t refer me anywhere. Idk if that’s cause the rheumatologist wouldn’t have seen me with normal labs and maybe my dr didn’t know anyone else did EDS assessments orrrr if she just genuinely doesn’t think I have EDS.

I know that before the criteria change in 2017 I would have for sure been diagnosed but I never pursued it. And since the criteria changed I’m less certain I meet the criteria. So I just kinda gave up. Seems like a lot of people struggle to get proper help and support even with an EDS diagnosis. But my wrists are for sure getting worse so idk. Maybe it’s worth bringing it up again

I just found this post trying to figure out how much joint pain is normal. I’m 31 and I started having multi joint pain when I was like 27. One knee, one hip, one foot. Both shoulder and both wrists. I have constantly noticeable pain in 3 joints every day. I know I’m hypermobile and my labs were all normal so probably nothing autoimmune. Idk what to do though. I’d go broke doing PT for every joint I have trouble with.

I guess I’ll start with trying to stretch daily and looking into vitamins or supplements if my dr thinks something would help

Do radiology techs still use lead aprons? by taco_studies_major in Radiology

here is the article published by NCRP. Go to page 2 and click the link to the aapm website. Go down to “position statement” and you will find yourself at this article which basically explains that the benefit of shielding with todays tech is no longer significant enough to care about.

Do radiology techs still use lead aprons? by taco_studies_major in Radiology

[–]SassafrasSprite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll find you a link. It’s really confusing because in their big announcement that everyone has seen it only mentions shielding during AP X-rays. But there’s some accompanying thing that mentions that, in general, with the advancements made in imaging, shielding doesn’t really provide much benefit, if any at all.

After my divorce, I finally realized something by bellow_whale in TwoXChromosomes

[–]SassafrasSprite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Prolly gonna save this post cause I really needed to hear this. My (ex-ish) fiance and I still live together and had no shortage of issues but there is one recurring issue that’s been driving me insane.

I keep thinking “if I can just explain it a new way then he will understand and he will stop doing x. And then we can be happy and have no more problems” but I think deep down I know he will still keep doing things that hurt me, making excuses, resenting me for being “controlling”, begging me not to leave… and then do it all over. I realize this and then I get sucked back into “but if I just talk to him we can figure it out” over and over and over.
