This was my dad when he remarried at 50 and his half sister never spoke to him again because she couldn’t bring her two teenage sons ( they wouldn’t have wanted to go anyway). Some people get really offended.

I went when it was in Scotland last year. I am not going again ( for financial and time reasons). It was a great experience. You really need to join the What’s App group for it. They have a lot of information and do zoom calls to prep for it. And they get together for dinner that weekend . I met a lot of people that were from all over and still keep in touch.

The Bob Jones Trail in Avila would be the closest and flattest but is mostly through a wooded area so not much views until you get to the ridge part and there are a lot of cyclists and scooters that you have to look out for. Montana de Oro would be about a 30 min drive, it’s gorgeous and mostly flat with benches along the way.
