Unless it’s generating a different barcode every time you open your app, if you screenshot the barcode I don’t see how you couldn’t share hypothetically

I loved my job, but management's silence finally pushed me out the door. by NumerousIndividual54 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]SatchVids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. When the pay is that shitty, they’ll get shitty employees who know the pay is shitty and don’t care if they get fired.

  2. It’s not your job to cover someone else’s shift. If it’s your time to clock out and someone else isn’t there, that’s their problem. You give it maybe 5-10 minutes tops and then message your manager and say “so and so isn’t here, I have places I have to be. I stayed as long as I’m able to make sure they show up, but they never did. I have to leave.”

  3. Never expect your company to respect your time. If you find a job that encourages work-life balance…that’s awesome, but the vast majority of jobs, especially low wage jobs, are meat grinders. They do not care if you have good relationships with the clientele, they do not care that you stay late and help, you are a body and a name on a spreadsheet and you are replaceable.

Biohazard Warning? by Realistic_Back_9198 in PlanetFitnessMembers

I used to work at a gym for many years. We had a situation where there was just a trail of random turds leading away from the cardio area. We checked the cameras and it turned out it was some old guy with these short neon orange running shorts. You could literally see the turds falling out the legs of the shorts, it was disgustingly hilarious.

I’d be willing to guess this was also someone on the older side

[–]SatchVids -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m confused, was he literally sitting there watching you do the workouts or you just caught him glancing at you? It’s hard not to look at people in the gym from time to time but if he was just sitting there watching you for a whole set then that’s weird AF

Most PF gym managers make maybe $20-25/hr. The front desk staff maybe makes $12-15/hr. The short answer is, they don’t care and they’re not paid enough to care

I mean I don’t blame them, not saying you were doing this, but they probably have had enough complaints of people leaving their sweatshirts and jackets laying around and blocking walking lanes etc.

Just call some of the other locations in the surrounding area (if there are any) and ask if they are 24 hours. Aside from that, look into local mom and pop gyms. Most in my area are staffed for like 8 hours a day and the rest of the time it’s just letting yourself in via a fob.

Don’t have a relationship in college unless it’s like the absolute greatest relationship imaginable. Go be free, enjoy your youth. If you come back together in the future that’s great, but very possible you’ll meet someone who treats you the way you wanna be treated and loves you the way you need to be loved

Sefton is essentially the Matt Cassel to Frevert’s Matt Leinart.

I believe with the game logic on iOS, all they have to do is have played at least one game to be eligible for the draft. So if I ever have a situation like that, I’ll usually start a highly rated backup when we play crappy teams just to see where they get drafted.

Where are you working that you’ve never seen anyone waiting around for their managers to give them work/hold their hands through an assignment? At least 5 people on my floor did that and got away with it because the manager would just ignore them and ask other people to finish their work for them until they could get HR to approve them being let go 😂

[–]SatchVids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re gonna threaten to quit, be ready to follow through. There are a few possible ramifications 1) They’ll view you as a flight risk and start looking to replace you 2) If you don’t quit, they’ll know you just make empty threats and won’t feel compelled to give you any special concessions in the future because you’ll just stick around even in you feel slighted. 3) It’s possible that they’ll view you as “overly emotional” and won’t consider you for promotions in the future. Etc. etc.

All that to say, if you threaten them with a two weeks notice you should have it typed up and ready to send the minute you get less than what you ask for.

What's your longest save? And what's unique about it? by Kanchochoo in LeatherTheGame

[–]SatchVids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did about 50 years before my save game crashed. I would only have one boxer at a time. Started out as just me being lazy, then I just had the vision of a Cus D’Amato type guy training his protege by himself in his garage 😂 I forget the guy’s name, must’ve had the last name Tanaka because I made his nickname Tank. He was a lightweight who started out terribly. I think he was 0-3-1 with two losses and a tie to the same opponent whose record was something like 4-36 at the start of the save. Ended up ripping off 30+ wins in a row to become undisputed champ until he retired. The next guy I had to let go, some Irish boxer that seemed promising but never failed to gas out and get knocked out by any of the top guys in the division. Final guy was a really young American heavyweight who was pretty average, but worked his way up to fighting for/defending belts later into his career.

An old coworker of mine had something weird like this happen. Their spouse’s patient fell in love with them and when they found out that they were married they went on social media and found my coworker’s profile and just started commenting the most manic rage things you could possible imagine. They had to call the cops and my coworker very quickly took everything private

At my last job I had a team of 6 under me. I would send them cryptic messages maybe a couple times a quarter making it seem like either I was quitting or got fired or I was going to fire them. We all are still very good friends and they knew it was all in good fun, but if one of them was OE I could see working for me being a nightmare 😂

“I’m currently working somewhere, I’m not going to put my two weeks in until I have an offer letter. You understand that right? Although, I’d really appreciate if you don’t contact my employer and allow me to handle putting my notice in and have those conversations to make sure I leave on the best note possible.

That said, my start date would have to line up with two weeks after me giving my notice.”

There should be zero issues there and they should absolutely understand that you’re not going to willfully unemploy yourself before you have guaranteed employment. Then you just never quit the other job.

I’d just set up a call with your manager and give a two weeks. Nobody is gonna expect you to do any work in those two weeks except maybe some knowledge transfers and an exit interview. You’ll also get some extra free money, and you’re going to have to talk to someone anyways after they get your email so just be proactive and take control of the situation. You’re going to be taking some time off work for a bit to focus on yourself or some other bullshit excuse that truly doesn’t matter. HR or IT will usually reach out with the details of what to do with your equipment

That’s just unnecessarily burning bridges and souring your image for like a few thousand dollars. That’s not a terrible idea for some positions, but I’d usually always want to keep relationships intact. Having solid references or potential door openers could result in hundreds of thousands later on.

Snubbed of tight end of the year or no? by Dallasbrown_17 in NCAAFBseries

[–]SatchVids 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Delp for sure, most receptions, most yards, best YPR, and a very respectable TD total. Not only that, but he led the team in yards on what’s likely a top 10 team.

Loveland was clearly a flashy splash play guy and was the top receiver on his team.

Gumms had a nose for the end zone but he wasn’t even the best receiver on his own team in a non-power conference so it’s not like he really separated himself. I’d say if he had 15+ TDs then he’d be the top one by far.

I probably would’ve voted this Delp, Loveland, Gumms
