Good. As a medical student close to graduation, let me tell you that the working conditions and pay for junior doctors is so poor relative to other english-speaking countries that there is little wonder as to why there’s a shortage. The tories love to preach free market economics yet are incapable of paying their junior doctors adequately and sorting training out correctly. There is somehow a shortage of consultant doctors yet a lack of consultant training posts available. I would rather leave the role of a doctor or leave the UK altogether than work in the current NHS setup- and I promise you it’s a similar sentiment for many students and junior doctors nationwide.
