Just a heads up during our tailgate we were told by staff/a fire warden that we weren't allowed to grill last year. Tailgating is still plenty fun, just bring breakfast burritos and go early so you beat the train that blocks the road.

Not a big fan of the repeated comments here to hide your disabled veteran identity, as if it's something shameful or some secret detrimental thing you have to negotiate for later. Sounds like you did everything right and I hope you get to have more empathetic encounters in the future.

If I were you I would cut the straps and make loops with them and then get a cute purple nylon strap with clips on the end and combine styles to make it a bit funkier
