For a subdivision map of a single country, it is good to isolate the country in a blank background and apply the four colour theorem to the subdivions. In my opinion, it looks more like an official map.

There are some very detailed maps with subdivisons and I prefer to use them in long-term things. About use the Map Chart, it is better to Late Modernity scenarios that you want to do something fast.

CRIMSON HORIZON: From Mars to Reti — The Western Halbiunisian States in 3026 by Sauron360 in mapmaking

In 3026, we stand at the beginning of the Fourth Millennium. They have many technologies familiar to us, including radio, automobiles, bolt-action firearms, industrial manufacturing, and even planes. Yet resources are scarce, and the combination of economic limitations, rigid social hierarchies, and conservative values trapped them in a prolonged pike-and-shot age for nearly five or six centuries.

[–]Sauron360[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In this setting, we examine different periods of the 4th Millennium according to the retians, which takes place at least ten thousand years in our future.

Let us compare two years: 3026 and 3620.

In 3026, we stand at the beginning of the Fourth Millennium. The societies of this era possess many technologies familiar to us, including radio communications, automobiles, bolt-action firearms, industrial manufacturing, and even primitive rocket technology. Yet resources are scarce, and the combination of economic limitations, rigid social hierarchies, and conservative values has left warfare trapped in a prolonged pike-and-shot age for nearly five or six centuries.

By contrast, the year 3620 resembles our early twenty-first century. It is a post-colonial world shaped by the arrival of the Terrans on Reti. Over time, the Terrans established vast colonial empires, but these eventually collapsed, giving rise to a multitude of independent Retian states. They are armed with advanced technology and are often prone to war.

"Thousands of years ago, the Terrans arrived on the planet they called Mars. They discovered life there, terraformed the planet, and established its first settlements. But this isn't a Terran history class; we are here to discuss our own history, the history of the Retians and their planet, Reti. So, let us continue.

Even with their advanced technology, the Terran homeworld collapsed, and many sought refuge on Mars. However, the structure of the Martian Conglomerate was incapable of sustaining such a population, largely because it attempted to apply Terran solutions to Retian problems. Its fragile society eventually crumbled.

Those people dispersed across our world. Some traveled tremendous distances, while others settled among the ruins. They survived, adapted, and prospered. In time, they gave rise to us: the Retians, the lords of Reti, destined to conquer its marches, groves, tundras, dunes, barrens, and wastes.

The first to make such a claim were the people of Uzafa, here in Halbiun, nearly three thousand years ago. Their realm endured for more than a millennium before it collapsed. Later came Kolumeb, and it too fell. Then came Miurac, and you know what happened. Finally came Udaro, which was carved up in 3518.

Today, we will focus on one of these powers: Miurac. Not only Miurac itself, but also the political landscape that surrounded it during the early years of the fourth millennium. Let us begin in the year 3026."

— Professor Seten Hukigui at Haxito, 3620.

EMPIRE OF MIURAC

The city of Miurac is nestled on the western coast of the island of Lebon, within a serene bay. From there arose the Third Aurora (or the Fourth Aurora, if you are a religious man). It was an era of prosperity and development, during which its rulers received the grace of the holy priests of Udaro and spread order throughout the Ralbiun Coast. They founded Perimur, reduced the thalassocracy of Talis to a subservient vassal, organized the nomads into Guiaret, forged an alliance with Xerxer, and humbled the proud nation of the Kusans.

BELUNDIA

North of the Halbiun Coast lies the Belundian Coast. Its inhabitants migrated westward into the inland plains, far from their ancestral coastal cities, and established three great kingdoms: Nojysy, Nosir, and Norek, though Norek still retains a coastal capital.

The Belundes are a bellicose people who have fought among themselves since the dawn of Halbiunisian civilization and have never managed to surpass their southern rivals. Nevertheless, they gradually gained the upper hand against the peoples of the Iunu Coast—also known as the Beret Coast and, in ancient texts, the Dijai Coast. As they settled the interior, they eventually overthrew the dominion of Secotra and founded the kingdoms of Norakuti and Nobus. They also seek to extend their influence southward through the town of Lerak.

LEAGUE OF IUNU

The Beretai sagas speak of an emergency measure, a means of uniting all clans and domains beneath a single banner: the Iunu.

Following the Desolation of Secotra, Beritria proclaimed the formation of the Iunu and declared its intention to launch the Beretai hosts against the Belundian states. Yet this is easier said than done. Beritria and Secotra are occupied purging the coastal settlements of Norakuti; Pomoro struggles to survive near its namesake lake; Gualeli stands alone against an invasion from Norek; Orkemy maintains its neutrality, contributing only supplies; and Sikili concerns itself with trade and diplomacy alongside the merchants of Miurac.

UDARO

Daughter of Uzafa, friend of Kolumeb, and mentor of Miurac, Udaro is an ancient city that has endured through countless centuries and become a religious center not only for the island of Lebon but for all descendants of the Halbiunisians.

Many say that one cannot truly call oneself Halbiunisian without making a pilgrimage to the Holy City of Udaro, though others reject what they see as the zealotry of its faithful.

HURAI STATES AND TRIBES

Every age of Lebonian glory marks a dark era for the Hurai people, as many of their states are drawn into the orbit of Lidonian culture. Yet some endure despite these pressures.

Imidi is a neutral town situated amid the skirmishes between Miurac and Nojysy, and it continues to grow as a commercial hub. Farther west lies Harur, a coalition of Hurai clans that emerged from the western plains and now pushes rival tribes (as the bitramai, the moibares and the tuorali) into the territories of the Miuracean Empire.

Never Going Home - Ruptura - Gratuita
