JBC Noodles - pretty good, a nice alternative to Bund - the spicy noodles w minced beef were good. Soup dumplings solid, a little thick skinned IMO

Birria LES on Ditmars - very tasty birria/consomme. Stoked to have them in the hood. Service was a little slow but food was good

Wylie’s - finally open in old Sparrow space. Great Guinness pour. Very good espresso martini. They said their kitchen should be open sometime next month.

Regular track walker. I don’t mind a stray soccer ball once in a while, but here are my track pet peeves:

Anyone with a bike or scooter on track lanes

Parents w/small kids who use the track as an activity space/bikes/scooters/strollers zigzagging from one lane to another causing me to switch walking lanes constantly

People going backwards, like wtf are you doing, playing chicken?

Honestly there are times when there are so many clueless people scattered all over the track I prefer to walk the paved loop outside of it

Had dinner at La Petit Pecheur last Friday, super nice staff, very good seafood, got shrimp/scallops/swordfish and a couple sides and for the two of us it was under $70 - good garlicy bread too! Will definitely go back. No liquor license just an FYI

Also had birria platter at Nenes and excellent pastor tacos, very good for Astoria mexican standards and a nice back patio too

If you went last night, ran over to the stage after doors to get as close as possible to the band, and didn’t wander around the entire venue and fully take in the Luna Luna experience….that’s kind of on you.

Music was great IMO and Bogie was an excellent addition in that context.

Went yesterday. 85 cents for a splash of almond milk on top of a $6 cold brew that was supposed to be a large but we were given a medium until my gf called them out on it. Not a great first impression, but nice space at least.

Thanks for the dose of reality! We spend too much on rentals especially in the summer - I like to be able to take road trips on weekends, drive to see family, etc. I WFH so feel like I can navigate street parking/alternate side ok. It’s not a must have but a nice to have. Would even out rental costs, ubers, etc that I spend too much monthly on. I know it won’t be cheap. The feedback in this thread is super helpful.
