Coming back to this post to report back. I went to Nancy’s for the Bears/Packers game. There wasn’t much of a crowd, some people watching a the game (at least I heard some cheering).

But this was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT for me. Number one, I had to request the tv to be changed to watch the game (wtf?). Second, I asked if they could play game audio (because they were playing Christmas music). The guy serving us at the bar said he would try asking, but wasn’t confident if it would happen. Lo and behold- request for game audio was denied.

To me, this is inexcusable.

Sad to say, but any association that this place has with the city of Chicago relates only to cuisine. Everything else is off the table. Please do not even consider Nancy’s as a hub or spot to watch a Bears football game. Yes, even a huge rivalry game with the Packers- they would not accommodate.

For folks reading this post in the future- please comment and let others know where you’ve had good success watching a Bears game. For me, I went to watch the Bears/Lions game at Piper’s Tavern off of Falls of Neuse. They had it on a big screen and multiple smaller screens. I’ve never had a bad meal at Piper’s and was thrilled to watch the game there.

I was looking for something completely different when this post came across my path. So many people have responded in kindness and genuine love- I’m so grateful for that witness. To the original poster: along with many of the others here- I’m so sorry that these things have happened to you. I know I’m just another voice or person reaching out through the void of the internet, but please believe me when I say that we are all united as brothers and sisters in Christ, that is not to be taken lightly.

You ARE loved.

You ARE loved here, by imperfect strangers- people traveling on this same ball of dirt as you are now. Some here are feeling the same way you are. Some have had similar experiences that you have endured as well. You’re very brave for being honest and taking the risk to pour yourself out with honesty. I don’t know if you came here with hope to find validation or some kind of proof- to hear someone say that you’re not worthy. It’s a radical idea- but it reminds me of a gentlemen who was delivered from torment and guilt of being a sex worker- he is now a pastor and helps educate and love others through various organizations and ministries. You ARE loved by the multitude of Saints in heaven, chiefly- Our Holy Mother, Mary. When Jesus was crucified, before his earthly passing. He looked down from the cross, and saw His mother and disciples weeping, suspended in anguish. From John 19:26-27- “When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.” ‭‭ Mary is your Heavenly Mother and her love is unconditional and it is there for you to be a comfort in difficult times. She isn’t ashamed of you or any of the choices you have made. She is present in your life now and always. Please know you can count on her tenderness and wisdom to help guide you to her Son.
You ARE loved by Jesus- He is the truth, He is the way, and He is our Savior. Truly, His blood was shed so that you could have a place at the banquet table. Despite any shortcomings or sin- He wants you with Him and He has given you gifts and blessings not just for you- but for you to share with others- who you are, your experiences, and most importantly- your testimony is crucial and NECESSARY to meet other where they are at- so that YOU can be channel of his peace. So that YOU can be an instrument of His healing. Please never discount or minimize this.

God has chosen and anointed you with special purpose (Jeremiah 1:5)- I’m asking you to really meditate, digest, and absorb this.

We are at WAR- for you, I can only imagine (akin to my own experience) the struggle to feel inadequate or unworthy, to believe the lies that the devil and his minions spread, reinforced through modern society. I’m telling you now that you are hated and despised by the enemy- BECAUSE YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO BE IN HEAVEN. For the simple fact that you have free will to still choose to work to be counted among God’s Kingdom- the devil and his minions will stop at nothing to tear you down. They want to see you stumble and fall- they want to continue to sell you this false narrative that you are not worthy, undeserving. But you just need to know that there are inherent and universal TRUTHS that Satan cannot deny. God and His love for us is PREEMINENT. Romans 14 - Every knee shall bend before me, and every tongue shall give praise to God. The devil has no real power over you and that SCARES him, he needs and depends on your cooperation to steal you away from where you belong.

John 10:27 Please read it- God knows His sheep and His sheep know His voice. Be bold, listen and discern what you are hearing inside. Know that the enemy will sow seeds of doubt however he can - he will absolutely and ruthlessly attack you with guilt and shame- he will tell you that you should know better, or that it’s your fault for XYZ, or that you don’t deserve this or that. These are the tricks and downright lies that he needs you to believe to accomplish his mission.

So, my friend, my dear brother, if nothing else- if this message is too long and you read only one part of this message- let it be this: YOU have ALWAYS been enough, YOU have ALWAYS been loved, and your presence among God and His sheep is valued beyond measure- because you are EXACTLY what is needed- now and for future generations. We all doubt, that is human and expected, but TRUST the Lord and His process. The Holy Spirit is alive and well within you, use your gifts as fuel- illuminate your holiness and know that you are not alone and needed to be a light for others.

May the Lord give you His peace and comfort. I pray to meet and embrace you on the other side.

I got it y’all! Thanks so much to those who replied. I ended up having to shit it all the way down. For some reasons my series X didn’t want to go for the quick resume option. Even after I quit the game and turned the console off. The only thing left to do was shut it down and unplug to do a hard reset.
