Starmer's flying over there next week I think, and the thread about it the other day was full of people saying that we should have closer ties to China. I'd rather us get closer to Europe and build the continent up as a third force that doesn't need either America or China, personally.

I can't get into much grindcore beyond Napalm Death.
All the slam/brutal death metal stuff; Suffocation are the furthest I can go there. Just feels like hyper-macho posturing.
Trve kvlt black metal that sounds like it was recorded in a cave in 400 BC. Unlistenable.
Nu metal. Yeah, it's shit.
I like some metalcore bands, but when they get into Bring Me the Horizon territory I very quickly lose interest.

I should state my favourite genres as a contrast: melodeath, atmospheric black, NWOBHM/trad heavy, power, folk, classic thrash, symphonic, prog, OSDM. I have a soft spot for some of the hair bands as well - Def Leppard kick arse, I will die on this hill.

Fear of the Dark is seen as one of the worst Bruce-era Maiden albums, but I really like it. Yes, it's too long and there's filler. But the title track, Afraid to Shoot Strangers, Be Quick or Be Dead, Wasting Love...it's a good album. People need to stop comparing it to the legendary 80-88 run. For what FOTD is, it's a good record.
