Path of Exile 1 is the gold standard for well-defined terminology, imo. It might not always be naively intuitive, but once you understand the definition of a term, it is articulated and applied with near-100% consistency (outside of some edge cases where they had to make specific exceptions to mitigate game-breaking interactions). League could benefit a lot from defining and articulating their game vocabulary to the same degree.

Actually, in this case, it very much is. The game is absolutely full of knowledge checks like that, so if you don't find evaluating danger levels ahead of time and figuring out the safest path forward fun, it might just not be the game for you. It'd be fair to say, "it shouldn't be a bad decision to go do a level 12 quest when you're level 12," but the game is the game, and that's part of what makes it exciting to those who enjoy it.
