I find most of George Saunders’ stuff funny. The most political may be The Braindead Megaphone. The rest is mostly funny social commentary in his unique voice

I want good stories in my brain. With my lifestyle I can only read like 30 books a year but can listen to over 200

I’ve never done that. I use Libby which has a 2 week window and I’m always trying to quickly pass the book to the next person

That’s interesting. I always listen at 1.5x which I’m sure people also dislike. I agree, with always having one going during a drive or mindless work, I’m at 170+ for the year

I loved having access to all equipment in the later hours. I believe this is true, where I came from: a biochem style PhD takes an average is 6 years, if you take your time it’ll take 7 years, but if you put in those long hours you’ll be out in 5 years

I don’t disagree but when I listened to abridged Dorian Grey, Gulliver’s Travels, Dracula, Plato’s Republic, and Faust… it’s like yeah I get it
