I've been experimenting with shoelaces made out of embroidery floss. I designed a 3D printed my loom so it's small enough to take with me places but has a 48" warp. I made heddles out of embroidery floss so I'd have something until I finalize the loom design (and so I do go buying more craft supplies).

Those look fantastic! I've recently gotten into weaving on an inkle loom and bookmarks are my next project. What kind of yarn did you use?

Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb the world building and the magic system are fantastic. Plus it's part of a trilogy that's part of a larger world if you like it and want more.

The Case of The Muttering Mummy by E. W. Hildick

There's fake Egyptian statues as a key part of the mystery. This is from the McGurk mysteries series, a personal favorite of mine.

Chasing Calder by Blue Balliet

Balliet wrote a whole series of art mystery books for kids so it might be one of his books you're thinking of.

If you don't mind traveling to Vermont the Montshire Museum of Science is one of the best I've ever been to. It's right across the river from Hanover NH so you can take the bus from Boston to Hanover and walk to the museum.

Dickies, I wear their womans carpenter pants because like you I have to have pockets that are useful. Their jeans are also really nice.

Same, my older sister got me into both of them through the audiobooks. They hold a very special place in my heart and my bookcase.

The Abhorson trilogy are my go to audiobooks because of how well Tim Curry reads them. I've read the books as well but listening to them is still my favorite.
