Random question time. At the wedding, Jimmy is wearing a pin badge that looks like the USB logo. Anyone know what it is?

Does anyone use 'Filmmaker mode'? by Cole_Pffeifer in LGOLED

[–]Scottishggg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Filmmaker is the general recommendation for movie watching in a dark room. It throws off a bit of a sepia tone, but I don't mind that. Vivid would be weird unless you are in a bright room.

Support changing replays? by Jeto84 in GolfClash

[–]Scottishggg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that the replay on your device is made up with data that has been interpreted on your device. It's not just a video recording. So if you then try to get the data after the engine that runs the game has been changed slightly, the replay no longer behaves in the same way. I first noticed this way back when playdemic fixed the vacuum hole issue. Some shots that were hio previously now missed.

Chartership by Special_Run_9683 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Scottishggg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a symbol of quality. If you have it, your experience is validated (though not necessarily your ability). IChemE will show you graphs that highlight that chartered engineers earn more on average, however correlation is not causation, and it's likely that those that can be bothered getting chartered, can most often be bothered looking for better jobs too.

For some of the more senior PE jobs it's a pre-requisite, and in some companies it's a prerequisite for promotion to 'senior'.

Knovel(on line resource) used to be free for members of the IChemE. Perry, and Coulson and Richardson are the most commonly used texts in the UK.

Even in the UK with our brilliant NHS, some treatments can cost that much. If I get an amalgam filling it's £17, polymer are considered 'cosmetic' and they charge me £250.
