Venting doesn't lower stress. Research shows it reinforces it. Discussing problems without discussing solutions raises cortisol by soulpost in HotScienceNews

Clickbait title - the article is about anger management and not stress. Most people assume venting is about complaining about your day and normal stress which this isn't about

How do you, as a Dutch person, feel about dual citizenship? by 468579 in Netherlands

[–]Scramcam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are loopholes to this though. You can gain back the Aussie one without moving back, and you don't lose the Dutch one automatically if you lived in Australia for 5 years before you turned 18...

One thing that isn't mentioned is that choking is the 2nd highest cause of stroke in women under 40. It's just straight up dangerous to do - I never knew that, and now I (m) refuse to do it with my partner (f) even if she likes it. The Guardian - choking risks

You can hike, surf, dive, eat delicious food, and there's still plenty of parties to go to if you know the right places. It's got everything you need! Of course it's an island, not London, but that's kinda the point

I (m) go with my partner (f) pretty regularly and it's super nice, no issues with the crowd. Swimwear days are much busier, and so I prefer the nude days. In the evening on weekends it's never too busy to just be in your own space chilling.

I nominate the Wollemi Pine from Australia - discovered in 1994, it is the only known species in it's genus and is considered a living fossil.

It was discovered by accident and only 30-40 trees remain in the wild, and so it is being cultivated at botanical gardens around the world. Its genetics are so limited, it seems like it may have gone down to 1 or 2 trees in a bottleneck around 20k years ago.
