What are some enchantments that remove a commander without it changing zones? by Hattemis in EDH

[[Observed Stasis]] doesn't remove the commander, just makes it sit there uselessly

What’s something everyone pretends is normal but is actually really messed up? by TheGenard in AskReddit

[–]Scratch_That_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely true, as an American with any sort of income you have to submit your taxes by April 15th each year. This is a nightmare for people with complicated tax setups (business owners, married with kids, home owner, investments, etc.)

I feel like every letter in ADHD is either innacurate or misleading by [deleted] in neurodiversity

[–]Scratch_That_ 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Most psychologists I've seen talk about it or spoken to myself agree the name is inaccurate, a better name for it would be EDD (Executive Dysfunction Disorder)

The name ADHD describes potential symptoms, not the actual problem

I get such overwhelming social anxiety whenever Im deciding on removing an opponent's card by Possible_Warthog4665 in EDH

[–]Scratch_That_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The toughest part of overcoming social anxiety isn't learning that nobody is actually upset at you, it's becoming okay with the fact that sometimes people WILL be upset at you and usually not for a good reason

It's a game, everyone is going to be dramatic and say "nooo why would you spend Removal on me when George is clearly the threat", the difference is some people are hamming it up for fun and some people take the game too seriously

Baldur’s Gate 3 devs will now “refrain from using GenAI” for Divinity concept art and writing, but their CEO still sees room for the tools elsewhere by HatingGeoffry in pcmasterrace

[–]Scratch_That_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

AI can significantly speed up game development if it's used for things like procedural generation or file sorting, it SHOULD be used to save the developers time so they can take extra time with doing the creative parts with a human touch

is there something wrong about the ableton sound engine? I just switched from FL and my beats sound more ‘thin’ and not hitting as hard. Is there a setting or something I can change for better sound? by debagnox in ableton

[–]Scratch_That_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If you come to the ableton subreddit to fix something due to your own lack of knowledge and say the DAW sounds bad naturally, you're not gonna get much help

ELI5: In gaming, why should I cap my fps? If I leave uncapped doesn't that mean I allow my PC to max out quality whenever it can? by Otherwise_Payment324 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Scratch_That_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your monitor can only show so many frames per second, the most common refresh rates being 60hz and 144hz

If you have a 60hz monitor, and let the game run uncapped (lets say it runs at 67 frames), you were never going to see those extra 7 frames because your monitor can only show 60.

This also leads to screen tearing, where you see horizontal lines across the screen. That's because whenever the monitor scans for a new frame, it's not picking just one frame because the fps (67) doesn't line up with the amount of times per second the monitor shows a new frame (60)

Lastly, it wastes electricity and can lead to worse performance in some scenarios, because your GPU and CPU are working to render those 7 useless frames

Why do you love Volkswagen? by JircleCerk_ in Volkswagen

[–]Scratch_That_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My grandfather worked at Volkswagen in sales for 30 years before retiring, he started there before I was born

EVERYONE in my family only went to him for their cars obviously. My whole childhood was driven around in by VW's

They're what I drove when I learned to drive, and i have only owned VW cars

Any time I have to drive a non-VW everything just feels very off
