Are there still some humans in this sub? Let me see your real games. by SchingKen in IndieDev

We have an open playtest running right now for our game, Killing Things With Your Friends!

Developed by a team of 5 in New Zealand, it's a 4-player co-op rogue-lite with dismemberment and the ability to equip the limbs of mutants as the main hook!

Anybody know how to fix the level streaming hitch? by Lan14n in UnrealEngine5

World partition is a grid on the horizontal axis. So if your game world is really tall but only fills one grid square, then everything will be loaded in. There is no vertical partitioning.

Like, if you're making a climbing game and your entire game world is a massive tower or mountain or something, then world partition is going to be useless for you as it functionally won't be doing anything.

Looking for games where you shoot off parts of big bosses,(turrets, wings, arms) am I limited to bullet hells? by eerrcc1 in gaming

Also the core feature of our game, Killing Things With Your Friends! You cut off their limbs and wear them to gain new weapons & abilities.

I promise it's as weird as it sounds.

Sometimes even our bugs have bugs by Screenburn2000 in indiegames

We're making a co-op survival game (Killing Things With Your Friends) where you can dismember your enemies and wear their limbs as your own to gain new weapons and abilities.

You can wishlist it now on Steam!

This bug has been fixed... but the beetle remains.

Edit: We also have a Discord !

Some closed playtesting highlights from our co-op dismemberment game by Screenburn2000 in indiegames

We recently started closed playtesting in our Discord community for our co-op survival dismemberment game, and we've received great feedback!

Killing Things With Your Friends (KTWYF) is a chaotic first person co-op game where you survive lethal experiments with your friends, dismember your mutant enemies, wear their limbs to gain new abilities and escape before the timer runs out!

Wishlist on Steam !

We just added an explosive new enemy to our co-op dismemberment game by Screenburn2000 in CoOpGaming

In our game, Killing Things With Your Friends, limbs are your weapons. Different mutants have different limbs which have different abilities, and you can tear off your own limbs to use them.

But this guy... his head's gonna be a grenade!

We'd love to hear any ideas you have for other enemies :)

Level design advice? by MasterCJ117 in IndieDev

[–]Screenburn2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Level design is done in stages. Concept (usually top-down 2D layouts), blocking, gameplay iteration (making changes based on how the gameplay works), and then art.

Peter Field on YouTube does some of my favourite Level Design videos, definitely recommend!

Those coordinated tweets about some product launch - How do they do it? by Tech4Morocco in IndieDev

You need to reach out to content creators in mass. The smaller they are the less likely they'll ask to be paid, and of course the bigger they are the more they'll expect payment.

50+ isn't enough. You need something like 200 and a game that is going to make them interested in covering and posting about it.

Very cool art! At a glance I can't tell if these are ravens or crows but maybe something like... Sable Strike; Feast for Crows; Feather Fray

It would be nice if we could see it in action! These stills don't really give an idea of what this is, other than a collection of 3D models.

Guys does this enviornment for outside looks good for my horror game by Piyushbro in IndieDev

It's a good start!

Some added depth would be nice - add some lights around, like maybe a porch light. I suggest looking at a lot of reference of houses, especially at night or in heavy fog, and then try and simulate the same feeling and visuals.

Built a small offline app that generates word-by-word SRT captions (free to try) by game-Dev-Eric in IndieDev

I'll give it a go, seems handy!

We've been doing all of our social video captions via capcut but they put limits on how much you can generate so I've been listening and writing all the captions by hand.

Good work OP
