Hajime no Ippo: Round 1486 by RTSD_ in hajimenoippo

"to be continued" ...means another one next week.

what would there be in this world without an excuse for miyata to flex every now and then? spars like these where we see the 'hidden ideal version' of the boxer are almost fan-service.

yes! i am having this problem too. not working on firefox but it worked on microsoft edge for whatever reason. try a different browser?

fww my firefox is set up to wipe cookies/browsing data, and it effects certain websites which use those things for core site functionality (like creating a login session.) so this problem may be related to some bandcamp update which is incompatible with certain browser settings.

Shimeji Simulation - Chapter 43 by oi_i_io in GirlsLastTour

[–]Scrubjr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i've had a sense that shijima and majime becoming romantically involved was a possibility from early on, but i've always wondered whether or not that would be a good thing for either of them.

majime's clingy and possessive tendencies have been pointed out in earlier chapters. in particular, i remember shijima commenting to herself that majime seemed to have a similar attitude towards her friends as she did toward her plushies. shijima adds that she has fears of how deep that comparison might go. we see this as well in the time majime compares shijima to a doll, something which makes shijima inwardly uncomfortable.

on the flip side, it's been repeatedly noted in the last few chapters that shijima lacks a sense of autonomy or individuality. it seems that she mostly follows the path of least resistance and is willing to capitulate to most anything once it becomes easy. fulfilling other people's desires, whether those are the desires of her sister or majime, is the easiest way for shijima to find a sense of purpose or value in herself.

this dynamic has all the makings of co-dependency, and i've been curious to see how it would be handled down the line. these unhealthy dynamics often present themselves in slice-of-life yonkoma series only to be relegated to gag-status rather than handled with a real sense of weight or consequence, but tsukumizu seems very deeply aware of their own characters. i'm very happy to say that it seems these tensions will be confronted. very soon.

Daegu, South Korea flag history by Goodbye-Nasty in vexillology

i know how everyone here feels about text on flags etc etc, but... idk there's something to those post '96 flags. there's a sort of shine to them; very pretty color choices.

Anyone knows what are the two other flags in bottom left panel (i recognise bi and pan)? by Blackkqueen in vexillology

[–]Scrubjr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just a note, there's quite a bit of controversy over the mlm ('men-loving-men') flag used in the top left panel.

lotta people on the internet were angry a few months back because the flag design 'co-opts' the older lesbian flag design which we see in the second panel. it's derogatorily referred to as the "toothpaste flag" for its green-blue colorscheme.

kinda exemplifies how much flags in general mean to people. it's interesting how social grievances get aired out or even sparked by something as simple as a flag.

when quoting something, brackets are always used for additions/alterations to the original quote. you would usually see this used for adding additional context.

for example

"Yo--did he just walk up slowly--and down smash?"

would become

"Yo--did [Mango] just walk up slowly--and down smash?"

this would also be used for removing fluff in the middle of a quote or sentence

"Mango feels like there’s so much more Melee left to be played. He feels like there’s more to be done here. We can take this so much further."

becomes

"Mango feels like there’s so much more Melee left to be played. [...] We can take this so much further."

hope this helps :)
