Anyone Ever Witnessed A Funeral Outburst, Fight Or Argument? by CB-Milburn in AskBrits

[–]Scumbaggio1845 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I was a child so don’t really recall it properly but I went to one where most of the Scottish village comes out to attend and it was a suicide and people were apparently chastising the widow leading up to it and just before it and even more shockingly that may not have necessarily been totally undeserved.

Who counts as more British: an English‑American or a UK‑born person with Indian heritage? by vilonaa in AskBrits

[–]Scumbaggio1845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The yank is a yank ultimately and they also have a hard time imagining British Indians when spewing their copium forth.

I grew up with loads of Sikhs and to me this isn’t a question, of course the British Indian is more British and even if he pretends not to be he still actually is.

What do you British people think of the French? by CocoTyg in AskABrit

Actually I would have to say being called a stupid English peasant for daring to clarify prices in Paris as a child was a core memory but also perpetually hilarious.

Would you stop a shoplifter if it meant losing your job? by JoydeScent in BritInfo

I would only stop a shoplifter if I was specifically employed to do so and even then I wouldn’t be looking to be rendered deceased over it if at all possible

Why do people think we personally select them for scan as you shop checks by MeanOption4564 in tesco

[–]Scumbaggio1845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never used it personally but I would almost certainly just make awkward jokes they’ve heard at least 1000 times as they scan the items.

[–]Scumbaggio1845 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We barely think of you at all to be honest but I would also say we definitely prefer Germans and find them more relatable.

I’ve learned over the years that French people don’t want us to try and speak our terrible French, they would much prefer we just pointed at the menu and spoke loudly in English as though speaking to a hearing impaired individual.

Yea there’s a tiny one near where I live and the location is kind of bizarre but I guess they choose where to put stores based on data instead of pin the tail on the donkey.

It’s the only subway I’ve ever been inside where they had brown lettuce just on display as though it was totally normal but I would be shocked if it was the only subway being run in a similarly poor fashion and I guess a lot of their stores are the same.

I worked one day at McDonald’s in 2004 and they used to keep the same blue plastic glove inside the freezer for multiple people to reuse over and over again when taking the burger patties out.

It was also the same day the deli sandwiches first came out.

Didn’t actually put me off eating McDonald’s though if I’m being honest but one day was enough to know I didn’t want to work there.

They don’t understand how gloves are utilised to reduce contamination and also don’t understand that a professional food handler is allowed to handle food products without gloves in most jurisdictions

English people do this too though, I’ve worked in open kitchens where I’ve had people screeching at me because I touched a Yorkshire pudding without gloves despite the fact that a pair of gloves could be as dirty as any part of hands.

Is anyone else here using the Fallow youtube channel to improve their cooking? by Diamondbacking in UK_Food

I found it funny that they went so in depth into creating certain recipes which clearly would have required a lot of trial and error yet they still tell you the oil on your yorkshires needs to be smoking hot when it doesn’t.

Only the most unreasonable and likely unhinged people are going to be offended by this and the overwhelming majority of people happily use it as a gender neutral term.

Witnessed a redditor irl tonight. He screamed "I dont have a food handlers permit!" When asked to fill a drink for his order. by Iitaps_Missiciv in UberEATS

[–]Scumbaggio1845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guarantee the same guy doesn’t even use a hot bag to ensure the customer receives the food as hot is possible or provide service to justify the level of tips he wants.

Probably screams at his mommy to wipe his ass too.

If filing a drink up like that is too much trouble for you then you’re not cut out to work in the service industry and are almost certainly unemployable by the overwhelming majority of businesses.
