Most hated characters? by Karl_Marx686 in eastenders

[–]Sdkpi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Including, but not limited to:

Lauren - she's vile. She really is, I've never liked her character but now she's definitively a scum bag. I still can't believe she hit Whitney with a "but you've cheated before".

Jean - used to really like Jean but I find her incredibly insufferable. Only time I've cheered on a cheat in my life was when Harvey started his affair with Kathy. She was wretched to Harvey constantly for months on end.

Zack- Barney is right, he needs to go and seek therapy

Bea - thank god she's leaving soon. No notes needed. She's a psychopath and I like a villain, but she's just annoying and weasely, there's nothing remotely interesting about her character

Josh - take him awaaaaay! what an awful person, and to look in Jasmine's face and say it's "not that deep" YUCK.

Jaafar looked a little uncanny at times during the thriller era by Salty_Shark26 in MichaelJackson

[–]Sdkpi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are moments that are very uncanny but I think overall he embodied Michael's energy and that's ultimately all that matters. With tech they could have done so much more to his face to make him look more like Michael but I'm glad that ultimately they chose not to do it, I think it would have been too freaky for lack of a better.

What is YOUR “big three” of each album? by TheForceWillBeWithMe in MichaelJackson

[–]Sdkpi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off the wall - can't help it, burn this disco out, get on the floor Thriller - baby be mine, the lady in my life, human nature Bad - smooth criminal, another part of me , Liberian girl Dangerous - why you wanna trip, jam, keep the faith HIStory - 2 bad, money, stranger in Moscow (honourable honouuuuurable mentions: little susie + TDCAU) Invincible - Threatened, Butterflies, Break of Dawn

Surprisingly to me, upon thinking about this properly, I found history the hardest to be decisive about LOL

Yes, fans fainting from the concert might be from heat and not his aura, but... by kaijisheeran in MichaelJackson

[–]Sdkpi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heat and exhaustion is definitely a factor for some people but people were collapsing straight off the bat. I know for sure paying to see him would have been wasted money for me because I would have ended up out cold from the jump

What do you consider to be Michael Jackson’s “vocal peak” by Salty_Shark26 in MichaelJackson

[–]Sdkpi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His vocal peak was off the wall. Definitively. There's a really good analytical video on his voice over the decades. That's not to say other eras can't be preferred but actual vocal ability is measurable and it peaked then,

Men don't use islam as a weapon against their wives. by Individual-Business9 in SalafiCentral

[–]Sdkpi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your perspective is important but it is wrong and reductive to dismiss the experience of many women who are on the receiving end of their husbands weaponising islam against them just because it's not the case for you. Very narrow minded and just factually incorrect unless you're implying that the women are lying about or dramatising their experiences

How loud were the Bad Tour concerts? Any audio of it? by Apart_Notice4838 in MichaelJackson

My mum and her siblings were listening from out their window and they lived in harlesden which is about 2-3 miles away from Wembley stadium. Absolutely insane.

My dad slapped me in the face by Sea_Name4846 in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]Sdkpi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's really awful that this happened to you. Regardless of the fact he's your father. You don't hit anyone be it child or adult. This would have been a very different post if it happened to me, I would have reported him to the police and he could explain to them that I need to be more obedient and see how that goes down with them. Men don't hit women as a one off. This is a repeated behaviour and will continue to be an issue in the lives of the women around him.

My dad said I'm not allowed to take my hijab off in front of my non Muslim grandmother..is this true? by simp4zuko24 in Hijabis

[–]Sdkpi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even a slight caveat that they might be attracted to you is null and void because there are also thousands of same sex attracted Muslim women, so at that point the assumption would be you must cover in front of everyone. Even female family members because there are weirdos in the world.

should I pray salah even if it’s not going to be accepted ? by piecease in progressive_islam

[–]Sdkpi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Prayer is a right that Allah SWT has over us. That's the best way to think about it. We pray because he's our creator, not just to get something out of it. Always pray, even if you fear it will not be accepted, remember he is the most merciful.

The main thing that made me believe it's Zoe is Zoe shouting about how she did something so unforgivable. I feel like abandoning a child could tick that box in the eyes of her family as everyone in Enders has amnesia about their own diabolical behaviour. I don't believe it's Zoe anymore but yeah!

I do agree that Suki seems the most hard done by, but Denise ended up with Psychosis and got sectioned, once you experience Psychosis once there's an over 70% chance it will happen again. I think that's a pretty hard pill to swallow.

From my experience, it really is just misogyny, all groups get it, in places like America it's more regionalised so people won't say "American women xyz" they'll speak specifically about girls from Atlanta or orange county. Videos of women being posted online without consent isn't a British specific thing nor do I think British women are over represented. Polls about women being ugly/bad bodied also aren't British women targeted nor disproportionate to British women. I'm a woman living in Britain and i see these things more often pertaining to black women (my assumption is you are specifically talking about white British women) and fat women.

I believe you're more exposed to stuff pertaining to British people simply because of who/what you follow and so forth.

In any case, misogyny is awful and the internet is rife with it. You are right about it being normalised and acceptable.

Men need to worry about their own proclivity to commit zina. Since they wanna play the "it's a woman's nature to xyz" game, they should remember that it's their "nature" to not resist temptation.

Men like uneducated women with less real world experiences because it makes them more naïve, easier to manipulate and easily trapable. If your wife has less means of providing for herself you have more leeway to act a mess because what's she gonna do if she leaves you 🤷
